Good afternoon folks Yesterday i purchased the ap class 50 primarily for use on the svr line , the problem im having is that i cant seem to get it to move!! All the controls work and i can turn the engine on and off but when i move the power handle it remains on 200rpm and wont move. Ive looked through the manual but cant find anything.
Are you in advanced or simple mode??? If advanced have you switched the AWS on / activated the change end switch which i think is to the left of and below the drivers seat... Eric
Thanks for the replies, i switched it on but it started buzzing and i couldnt turn it off , it says something about needing to turn it off in the other cab?
BOTH levers should be in the UP POSITION in the cab you are driving from... In the other cab I presume the (as you look at it) LEFT lever should be in the DOWN POSITION and the RIGHT LEVER should be in the UP POSITION... I may be wrong about the trailing cab & stand to be corrected but in the absence of any further advice just try it anyway... Eric
Any luck??? I forgot to ask, are you doing a cold start or are you on a loco that's already "prepped" & ready to go...??? I did a quick drive this morning wirh a "prepped" 50 following the manual & had no probs... If "prepped" follow this TO THE LETTER... Let us know how you get on... Eric
From what I can ascertain the AWS change end switch should be as follows... Looking at the change end switch, REGARDLESS OF WHICH CAB YOU ARE IN the isolate (left hand lever) should be in the UP POSITION... In the trailing cab (the one you aren't going to be using whilst driving, the right hand lever should be in the DOWN or OFF POSITION... In the cab you will be driving from, the right hand lever should be in the UP or ON POSITION... Don't forget to switch off the AWS if you are changing ends & activate it in cab you'll be driving from... Hope this helps??? Eric
I managed to get it moving!!! Just did as advised and made sure both handles for the aws was in the up position then cancel it by tapping the bell in the cab. Thanks for all the help folks i really appreciate it.
