I wondered if anyone had used the Enhancement pack features in quick drive scenarios? Namely the ability to hold a signal at Red so a faster service can overtake. In quick drive the player train always takes priority in my experience unless the section ahead is occupied, I would like to set paths up with loops on mainlines that a freight could enter and then a faster train overtakes?
Quick Drive doesn't feature overtakings as QD must work with all sorts of stock the player selects, with different top speeds. This needs a normal scenario to be set up for it.
It will. But you will probably not get the AI trains to behave the way you want. But since the signal pack does unique things, try it out. Who knows, sometimes the dispatcher code does surprise.
After plunging in and buying the AP enhancement pack for signals, I the put the red signal marker on one line so it would in theory give the AI train on another line the priority. It didn't, it in fact held it waiting for the player train regardless of marker. I even tried putting a force green marker on the AI line which didn't force a green unfortunately. Oh well £9.99 that I won't get back...
I guess it's still got some value, and it's not APs doing that DTGs dispatcher does it's own thing. I wish one day that a Train sim could come out that realises the Signalling rules the trains not the player train ruling the signalling.
Zusi. But that thing is a REAL simulator. The one that Deutsche Bahn actually trains their staff on. So don’t expect wonderful graphics.
I have had Zusi for many years, it's great from an operations realism point of view but yes is graphically dated.
