I was just wondering... is it possible to get the track enhancement pack to work with routes that it doesn't automatically apply itself to? Is it like the weather pack that can just have some files moved across to a relevant folder? The manual doesn't say whether it's possible. Thanks
I know people change track types, in fact Tom from JT was talking about changing his freeware route he's working on over to AP, what I don't know though is how, I saw a youtube tutorial about changing track type once and it said to lay a bit of new track using the type you want and then saving and exiting, then you edit something in the track.bin to change the old track type to the new track type, I however got completely lost and failed to change it. I would love to make the fictitious US Industrial Interactive Route have UK track rule and signals, but like I say I failed to do so.
PH There have been a couple of patches on Alan Thomson Sim for the AP TEP for some routes - this one is for the JT common library: AP Track Patch and Replacement Signal Lens Textures for Just Trains https://alanthomsonsim.com/?downloa...lacement-signal-lens-textures-for-just-trains Is it worth asking the author(s) on how they made the changes?
Yeah.. just done that I hope I get a reply. So long as it's possible to find patches etc, it's not so bad. TBH.. I never looked on places like ATS for them. I'll download the JT patch and see how I get on with it.
I've installed others off the ATS site too. All work well. The JT one also gives new track textures for any route that uses the JT common library, and I tested that by loading up Manchester stations to Huddersfield V2.1 which uses it, and sure enough, looks great.
It does look well, and such a neat little trick to use two flat images on top of each other with an alpha transparency to recreate the appearance of good 3d track. I have problems getting the AP track pack to work with the full MML by JT, no matter what I do, the old track remains. However, the edit works with the standalone Sheffield to Derby by JT and all other JT routes.
What's it got so far? - Derby to Sheffield - Derby - Nottingham - Leicester - Matlock to Derby - Erewash Valley - Barrow Hill Roundhouse That's where they're at so far, which is pretty decent. While you missed the 'isValidInScenarios' boolean value a few weeks ago, you haven't missed the release of the full MML by Just Trains as you have quite rightly pointed out. Thanks Peter.
I thought I heard mention on a stream they were doing the Hope Valley line, which I would love to see. I might have been hearing things though! I haven't started getting this trilogy yet, from the streams and screenshots I have seen they do look like JT's best routes yet.
Hope Valley would be ace. Be lovely to see Matlock all the way to Buxton, via Bakewell and the Monsall Head Viaduct too.
Yes I would love to see that. I think there is a freeware route which covers Derby to Manchester in the 60's. Bakewell is one of my favourite towns, not just because of the desert!
There are puddings and tarts around here in equal measure it's a nice little town, sorely missing it's railway station. Can't see us moving any time soon. Next time you're about this way, I'll treat you to a pint at the Thornbridge brewery. Richard Fletcher (dpsimulations) is a fan of Thornbridge's Jaipur pale ale apparently. It's a bloody tiny world!
Haha I didn't want to use the word tart in case it through up all kinds of "what are you trying to say" scenarios! You are very lucky living there. Bakewell and Ashbourne are two places on my "would love to live there list". I will take you up on that, being from the West Midlands, the Peaks are almost on my doorstep and I often have trips up there in the spring and summer. Thank you.
The Midland Mainline from Manchester Central to Derby via Didsbury, Cheadle Heath and Millers Dale would be a good route but it would be in Steam/early Diesel era as the main section from near Chee Dale to Matlock closed to Passengers on 6.3.1967 and completely on 1.7.68 Peter
Be a beautiful route to run a newly modeled Midland Blue Pullman on. As a kid, I waited years and years for the line to be reinstated from Matlock to Rowsley (home village), hopeful that it would be fully reopened one day. Our little gang used to use the old track bed to walk from Rowsley to Matlock on a regular basis. Peak Rail started work on reopening that section of line when I was about 6. Finally got a ride on it with Lord Phil pulling, 5 year old daughter sat next to me, at the ripe old age of 36.
I will do thanks. It would be good to meet some folks from here face to face, you feel slightly detached stuck behind a screen.
