Hey everyone, After a few Horseshoe Curve and German freight runs i ve thought that it would be really cool if i could see realtime BP/BC pressure values on the consist wagons so i ve decided to make an app that would show me those values and let me control distributor valves and brake switches on those wagons. So here is, TSW Formation Viewer TSW Formation Viewer is a standalone application that aims to provide a real-time readout of every vehicle of your train, while also allowing you to manage brake modes and distributor valves remotely Key Features: Realtime Formation Monitoring(BP,BC Pressures,Brake Mode and Distributor Position) Brake Mode Management Distributor Remote Control Custom themes using RGB Values Overlay display Ability to hide columns Auto Updates whenever the formation changes TSW must be started with the -HTTPAPI option for the app to work Screenshots: This app fully supports German and Austrian Routes, UK & US routes are not fully supported as i dont have all of them so i can't check if they work properly or not(because names for stuff like BP,BC, Brake Switches and Distributor switches can differ between wagons/locos Special thanks to OpenMinded for testing the app Download link : link Source Code(Github) : Source
This looks excellent and I’m already thinking about how I could use this with noir excellent freight brake mode spreadsheet. Is this a one way app or do you have the ability to push changes from the app back into the game (for example changing brake timings on wagons)? Unfortunately I am unable to install it due to the below error Traceback (most recent call last): File "FormationViewer.py", line 30, in <module> FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'C:\\Users\\there\\Documents\\My Games\\TrainSimWorld6\\Saved\\Config/CommAPIKey.txt' My CommAPIkey is saved C:\Users\there\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld6\Saved\Config which I think is where the issue is as I can point the exe file manually to it.
When it works you can also use it to manipulate the brake settings in the game (brake mode selector and cut off switch), by simply clicking on the brake mode you want to change and select one of the available settings. You will also spot right away if the waggon does not have the ability to be changed (as the older Waggons didn’t have this implemented in the game at the time), as the table will only display a „?“. It’s really nice, I use it all the time since I have got it and noir calculator complements this perfectly.
Hi, thank you for bringing this up, i just published the fixed version here. If it still fails, please create a file named "key.txt" in the same place where you re running the app from and add the key in that file
Its working now, and already Im loving it. The ability to change the brake switches without having to fumble around in the dark on night runs alone is a game changer for me. Thank You
