Hi All, Does anybody (or DTG Alex ) know if there are any special criteria for counting the 15 scenarios or timetable services for the April Mastery. As you can see its counting the mileage I've driven along with distance walked and collectables but is refusing to count the services. recently mastery ahs been behaving itself on my computer so I'm at a bit of a loss. I've even tried logging off, restarting the game and logging back in.
Raise a support ticket, they'll fix it after a day or two. I've had to do that in each of the last two months, time will tell if I get the hat-trick.
I’m wondering if you have to do only 15 scenarios or timetables straight and not a mix of them, like if you do 10 scenarios and you decide to go for a timetable it resets to 0.
Whether or not you switch between scenarios and timetables shouldn't matter. I managed to do both and still completed the mastery.
Oh cool thanks then. I asked that because on one game it was similar to this but it was resetting to 0.
This month’s mastery is working fine… Have never looked at a monthly mastery till this month and was surprised I only need to do one more scenario/ timetable to complete it. I do a lot of shunting, walking to manually reset the points (switches for some) so easily got the 5 miles. Anyway, just wanted to say it is working for me at least.
I really need to pick it up again, but so far it’s been working okay for me. The biggest challenge is the walking though jumping off trains to do collectibles accounted for about 30% of it, so far. In any event, I’m tending to do Timetable runs rather than scenarios, keeping the latter for when specifically mandated. And you can clear the 15 Timetable services fairly quickly just doing some ECS runs on most routes.
Fastest ECS movement in my opinion are with the 700 on ECML South, it’s quick to do and ironically you’re getting quickly bored after doing 3 or 4. There’s some short ones on WCML too with the 710.
15 scenarios or timetables is a bit harsh. I haven’t the time to do that in a month. Is there a way to obtain the extra posters for a cost. £???
I would quite like to see the 1000 mile/1600km challenge make a return in May. That was something to get stuck into.
Didn’t think of doing depot moves for the challenge. I was doing the timetables to service Rosebud mine on Horseshoe curve and then some switching on Sherman Hill and Cajon. Definitely not the fastest way to get to 15, but enjoyable. By the by Vern… would you be Driver Vern over on the Run 8 forums?
Been trying to learn the CSX A-line.. Did manage to build the Amtrak Auto Train and run it north for a ways. Like you, hadn’t touch it for several months before that - but it was the motivation to run the timetables to service the Rosebud mine in TSW. Just wanted to do a job rather than an A to B run. best
For me the "Well Travelled" has reset to 0 and for two days it has not moved at all while the walk and 15 collectibles is done.
I really need to add the Modesto section to finish SoCal network. Had hoped recent world events might improve the GBP to USD exchange rate but having peaked at $1.31 it’s started sliding back down again. For me the industry side of Run 8 is most fun, particularly with The Depot config mods and something like the very populated session file which spawns 100’s of trains and consists around the map. Could take years to clear all that traffic! Make sure you submit a ticket, they will sort it.
Thanks. It is now sorted. By itself? or did support fix something I do not know. I only submitted a ticket and next thing I see ingame is that the Mastery is 100% done.
You can save scum it by creating a save right at the end of a service or timetable, complete it, return to main menu, check that it has logged progress, load save, rinse and repeat.
