    Define please.

Worldwide there are 10's if not 100's of thousands of different locomotive and other traction types going back to the dawn of railways and the first steam engines.

In the game. I thought that was obvious.

My understanding is that any add on which works in TSW3 will carry to TSW4. That was stated by DTG.

Yeah, I saw that. But I’m wondering about earlier routes. Are we losing some of the TSW1 and TSW2 routes and locos?

all trains and routes that came into TSW2/3 are available into TSW4. If it works on either of them which is the same for both on older routes/locos, it will be accessible in TSW4

TSW1 locos & routes compatible with TSW 2&3 will work just the same on TSW4

Not if they currently work in TSW3.

So technically the old GP40 and TSW1 version of Northeast Corridor won't carry over because they never made it to TSW3.

As others have said previously, everything that worked in TSW3 will still work in TSW4. It includes pretty much everything except the NEC NY related content from TSW1 (NEC, GP40, SW1000R). You can check the compatibility list if you are in doubt about a DLC in particular.

Thanks for the answers. That's what I was looking for. I initially was a little hesitant about TSW4, but given the fact we're getting a bunch of new routes for a fairly decent price (6 for $55 US if you get the special edition that I'm buying), it's not bad.

Anyone guess how long it'll take to download and how much space I'll need? I'm holding off the pre-order and not getting it way in advance.

On pc, I counted around 22gb for the 4 legacy routes coming with the special edition. Dra currently is at 6.8gb for me but idk how much it would increase by or if it would stay the same. I saw a post on reddit about a user on xbox who predownloaded it and antelope valley line was 10.35 gb. The size of the download is not really consistent with length, so honestly don't know how large the download for ecml and vorarlberg is going to be. Loco dlcs are under a gb usually.

In terms of time to download, it is up to your internet provider and what platform you are on.
