The actual speedometer in the cab shows my speed to be 14 kmph. In HUD it shows 18 kmph. Any ideas what's going on ?!
One train that has some randomness on a route that was poorly received. Kinda wish more trains had random stuff going on
Ditto. It was nice to see Niddertalbahn introducing randomness with the crossing failures. It would be great to have random failure events, particularly if they are recoverable, but it'd have to be implemented the way other games do it, i.e. optional, to turn them on and off in the settings menu, just like in MS Flight Simulator.
I agree. I would like to have things like emergency brakes randomly being applied, perhaps doors not wanting to close, perhaps having to wait longer at a station due to a delayed train. Things that give life to a railway
Something in a trailer I saw gave me the impression that's exactly what I'd be getting with TSW... I can't remember where I saw that. But when I discovered otherwise, it was a huge disappointment.
The only out of course events I've encountered is where it's scripted in (which means not really random) to specific scenarios. A few on the German routes where you have to terminate due to snow on the line (as if that would stop trains running in Germany ), or the 465 scenario on SEHS where you have a door come open on a 465 and have to terminate at Rochester. However there is still a giveaway as the scenario is described as going from Dartford to Faversham with a running time of 30 minutes so a bit obvious something is going to happen. Had to smile at this one too, having dealt with plenty of "Door open in traffic" incidents during my time as a Provincial Resource Controller (looking at you Class 155's) there's far more to what would happen than depicted here but that's a story for another time...
After all this time, I suspect that random malfunctions are built into the game. Gives people something to complain about and secondly, keeps a crew of people busy fixing (supposedly), said malfunctions.
