Page 3: Stations: Dalmuir: Dalmuir railway station is a railway station serving the Dalmuir area of Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It is a large, five-platform interchange between the Argyle Line, North Clyde Line and West Highland Line. The station is very close to the Dalmuir drop lock on the Forth and Clyde Canal. Milngavie: Milngavie railway station serves the town of Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, near Glasgow in Scotland. The station is sited 9 miles 35 chains (15.2 km) from Glasgow Queen Street, measured via Maryhill. The station is managed by ScotRail, who also operate all services at the station, along the North Clyde and Argyle lines. Its principal purpose today is as a commuter station for people working in Glasgow city centre. The station itself is a category B listed building. Glasgow Central: The low-level platforms were originally a two-island separate station, and were added to serve the underground Glasgow Central Railway, authorised on 10 August 1888 and opened on 10 August 1896. The Glasgow Central Railway was taken over by the Caledonian Railway in 1890. Services ran from Maryhill Central and from the Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire Railway in the west through to Rutherglen and via Tollcross through to Carmyle, Newton, and other Caledonian Railway destinations to the east of Glasgow. Other stations include Cambuslang and Motherwell. Newton: Newton railway station is a railway station located between the neighbourhoods of Drumsagard, Halfway, Newton and Westburn in the town of Cambuslang (Greater Glasgow), Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail on the Argyle and Cathcart Circle Lines. Larkhall: Larkhall railway station serves the town of Larkhall, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The station is the south-eastern terminus of the Argyle Line, 16+1⁄4 miles (26.2 km) south east of Glasgow Central railway station. Motherwell: Motherwell railway station is a railway station in Motherwell North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It lies on the West Coast Main Line (WCML), and is served also by Argyle Line trains of the Glasgow suburban railway network. It is the penultimate stop on the northbound WCML before Glasgow. There are four platforms of various length in use at Motherwell. The station is located next to the town's main shopping arcade, Motherwell Shopping Centre. Points of Interest (POI): Yoker Depot: The large Yoker Traction Maintenance Depot, which looks after the EMU fleet used on North Clyde suburban services, is a short distance to the east, towards Garscadden. Motherwell TMD: Motherwell TMD is a traction maintenance depot in Motherwell, Scotland. The depot code is ML. Larkhall Circuit: (potential mastery reward - kart race) Larkhall Circuit is open and offering you the opportunity to experience motorsport karting at it’s finest, with both entry level karting available as well as owner practice days and international competitions. I hope you enjoyed this backdated Glasgow route suggestion, put your thoughts down below as usual, I've been TrainGeek08, enjoy the rest of your day, and goodbye EDIT: I have just realised that Larkhall didn't reopen until 2005 (insert facepalm emoji here) so Larkhall wouldn't be included, my apologies
Really no need to suggest what DTG should sell the routes for and we certaonly shouldn't be encouraging another price rise after it went up from £25 to £30. As regards the route, well I have speculated Rivet could be working with their Thomson associates (who did the TSC version) to do North Clyde. So you might get your wish, or at least part of it.
Fair enough on the price side, that's DTG's decision at the end of the day If that's true, that's brilliant regardless of era
does freight run along this line? in the picture of glasgow central it shows what looks like a freight train passing,
It's hard to draw my attention to the class 303 usually especially in the BR blue livery I found it vile. But I forget it has this orange livery and to be honest I quite like it and you have just scraped my acceptance to this route! I'm only joking to you on that last bit hehehe I'm a nobody anyways to be talking like that, but seriously you have impressed me again with this suggestion and would love to see it in game
Bish, bash, bosh, brilliant suggestion mate as per usual. I think this route would be a good one to drive and would be nice to have a backdated Scottish route after two modern ones, The 303s would be the highlight for me!
BR Blue on a 303 just doesn't work however the SPT orange livery works better hence why I included it Thanks, yes I totally agree, I also want to see this become a reality
Cheers mate, yes a backdated Scottish route is definitely needed, if it's not the Highland Mainline with Class 37/4s, then this would be a great alternative
