I picked up this route a while ago and then hadn't really got around to playing it properly. Now I have tried the SD40-2 scenarios and can't stand the default cab view. From the position you can't even see the track in front of you. See exhibit A: I am sure I have seen a thread about changing the driving position, but can I find it with the search tools...nope. Has anyone seen a patch for the SF SD40-2? Or can point me at the file/parameter that I have to adjust?
Here you go. Also includes a coupler fix. Better cabviews for Dash 8 and SD40-2. Also adjusted the keyboard input sensitivity. If you want to move further to the right, unserz the camera file and play with the x value. If you move too far to the right you'll get side window clipping though. You can also adjust Y to move your viewpoint a bit higher. Z moves your viewpoint forward or backward. The values are metric system, so 0.01 is a centimetre. The vertical and horizontal freedom can limit your ability to freelook. Some devs do that to hide incomplete cab models. A value of 3.141 is a 180 degree head turn in each direction, 1.57 would be 90 degrees. Anything bigger than 3.141 gives you unlimited rotation.
You're welcome. This is the first thing I do when purchasing new DLC - adjust the cabcam for best controls/track visibility.
