One of the countries that hasn't appeared in TSW 2 is The Netherlands. One of the reasons may be the fact that most of The Netherlands is a flat plain. South Limburg on the other hand has been uniquely filled with hills. So maybe something could be done over there. My idea is to get the all the Arriva services Within the province of Limburg and the NS intercity services Roermond-Sittard-Heerlen/Maastricht. The reason for the year posted is that by then the Limax train are operational from Aachen-Maatricht-Liege. Whereas it's now Aachen-Maastricht. Train stock Train stock will be Arriva Limburg GTW (Both electric and Diesel) (Pre 2024), Arriva Limburg FLIRT and NS VIRM Stock numbers Arriva GTW Diesel 2/6: 276-281 (Pre 2024) Arriva GTW Diesel 2/8: 382-391 (Pre 2024) Arriva GTW Electric 2/6: 426-430 Arriva GTW Electric 2/8: 530-532 Arriva FLIRT (2 coaches): 450-464 (1500V) Arriva FLIRT (3 coaches): 550-557 (1500V, 3000V and 15kV) Arriva FLIRT (3 coaches): 558-570 (Post 2024) (1500V) NS VIRM 4 (4 coaches): 9547-9597 (1500V) Services (With all stations stopping) Arriva RS 11: Nijmegen - Nijmegen Heyendaal - Mook Molenhoek - Cuijk - Boxmeer - Vierlingsbeek - Venray - Blerick - Venlo - Tegelen - Reuver - Swalmen - Roermond (2x/hour) Arriva RS 12: Roermond - Echt - Susteren - Sittard - Geleen-Lutterade - Beek-Eesloo - Bunde - Maastricht -Maastricht Randwyck (2x/hour) Arriva RS 15: Sittard - Geleen Oost - Spaubeek - Schinnen - Nuth - Hoensbroek - Heerlen - Landgraaf - Eygelshoven - Chevermont - Kerkrade Centrum (2x/hour) Arriva RS 18: Maastricht Randwyck - Maastricht - Maastricht Noord - Meerssen - Houtem-St. Gerlach - Valkenburg - Schin op Geul - Klimmen-Ransdaal - Voerendaal - Heerlen Woonboulevard - Heerlen (2x/hour) Arriva RE 18: (Liege Guillemins - Bressoux - Visé - Eijsden - Maastricht Randwyck -) Maastricht - Meersen - Valkenburg - Heerlen (- Landgraaf - Eygelshoven Markt - Herzogenrath - Aachen west - Aachen Hbf) (2x/ hour Maarstricht - Heerlen, 1x/hour Liege Guillemins - Aachen Hbf) NS IC 800 (Schagen/Alkmaar - Maastricht): Roermond - Sittard - Maatricht (2x/hour) NS IC 3900 (Enkhuizen - Heerlen): Roermond - Sittard - Heerlen (2x/hour) Optional Services (In Germany) DB regio RB 20: Hertzogenrath - Kohlscheid - Aachen West - Aachen Schanz - Aachen HBF (2x/hour) DB regio RB 33: Hertzogenrath - Kohlscheid - Aachen West - Aachen Schanz - Aachen HBF (1x/hour) DB regio RE 4: Hertzogenrath - Aachen West - Aachen Schanz - Aachen HBF (1x/hour) Conclusion I'm really looking forward to hear about this suggestion. Thank you in advance.
I'd love to see a Dutch route, and Limburg really offers an interesting landscape, but a Dutch route wouldn't be the same without the iconic NS trains. Besides, wouldn't the iconic flat and open landscape be the thing that makes a Dutch route unique, and different from the usual stuff?
Well, yes, but that's hard to pull off. Plus I suggested NS IC services with the VIRM on the routes between Roermond and Maastricht/Heerlen
