You are correct if Union Workshop decides to do MTR East Rail formerly Kowloon Canton Railway British section they will have to do the underwater section all the way to the Chinese border. That includes the depot where it has an original 1980s era train kept. Tokaido Shinkansen that might be doable as Nagoya to Kobe via Kyoto and Osaka. My mum brother and aunt that lives in Kyoto used it from Kyoto to Kobe.
