    Hi guys
The ATS “TSC ready series”Class 165/166 Pack is now live over on ATS

    AVAILABLE NOW: https://tinyurl.com/4z26ksh7

The TSC Ready Series brings selected Train Sim World stock into Train Simulator Classic, carefully adapted to operate reliably within the TSC environment. Each release includes simple but effective refinements to physics, sounds, and systems, ensuring authentic performance and dependable functionality at a budget-friendly price.

    Train Description
For Train Simulator Classic, this new version of the Class 165/166 Turbo brings the familiar unit from Train Sim World: Great Western Express into TSC, extensively refined by ATS and AND Games to deliver a more realistic and technically accurate driving experience.
The model has been carefully adapted and enhanced with custom physics, sounds, and operational systems to closely represent real-world performance. A full suite of working in-cab systems is included, alongside a detailed transmission simulation that accurately reproduces the characteristics of a diesel-hydraulic drivetrain.
Appropriate modifications have also been made to create a fully functional Class 165 variant, reflecting the key operational and visual differences between the two units.

    Key Features
    – Realistic transmission simulation and power curves
    – Functional GSM-R radio
    – Operational guard mode
    – Authentic TPWS and Driver Vigilance Device
    – Dynamic hill start behaviour
    – Seasonal wheelslip and wheelslide simulation
    – Multiple passenger views
    – Vultron and TrainFX destination systems
    – Detailed sound set recorded from real units
    – Class-specific detailing differences (windows, vents, roof panels, etc.)

This new release brings both the Class 166 and Class 165 Turbos to Train Simulator Classic with a far more complete and immersive experience, combining accuracy, functionality, and reliability for both everyday and scenario-based operations upload_2025-10-30_16-8-58.png

Purchased and playing. Would be wonderful if ATS could convert TSW routes into TSC (e.g. Cathcart Circle)

Been playing a lot of TSW recently. Usually 1 TSC then 1 TSW to experience both products. So nice to be running this in TSC. Seems to perform well. None of the TSW stutters (lol). Great concept. Well done ATS! AND I get to interact with AP products from my library.

The difference is this is not a convert of the TSW version but an enhancement of the TSC version,

The Cathcart Circle would need new assets to be made as DTG might object to them being converted.

It is a pipe dream more than an expectation. I can’t help wondering what the longer term for TSW is and whether it has staying power or that it may be superseded either by a different engine or another competitor. That being said since TSC still has major 3rd party relevance it will be interesting to see what happens in the future. TSW appears to be manacled by its desire to be everything for everyone. At some point this will not be sustainable (console v pc).

Needs to be sold on Steam for me to think about picking this up.

Will never happen. All of the good stuff is sold by 3rd party vendors. You are missing out a lot of what TSC brings to the table. It is no wonder you are less than impressed with TSC if your only source is Steam. You are missing all of the AP products. Why I just recently picked up the ICE4 from 3DZUG. If your only source is DTG/Steam then I am not surprised with your frustrations. TSC has so much to offer, however, the price is maintaining your own instance. I have pretty much all TSW product and a huge array of TSC product. One feels like a game the other is clearly a hobby/collection. For me using TSC enhancements makes the whole experience of the journey so much more enjoyable.

Personally I prefer to buy 'off steam'. The developers don't have to pay Steam (and DTG) a cut and I don't have to pay steams overinflated price where I live. Also ATS can push fixes a lot quicker without having to go through DTG.

I'll be getting this. It looks like an excellent addition to my TSC collection from what I've seen so far. Pretty reasonable pricing by today's standards as well.

The price is £14.99 if you are an ATS subscriber. That's quite reasonable if it's a pro level add-on.

Sadly, I have little love for the 165/166 and its area of operations, so it's not an early buy for me.

It would also be wonderful if some TSC routes could be converted into TSW!

As I said in an earlier post
This unit is not the TSW version

It is almost like an AP Enhancement Pack that uses some features from the TSW 166
You still need the Class 166 from the European Loco Pack

To my knowlegde the 3d model(s) from TSW has been ported over to TSC. I don't see any requirements for the European Loco & Assets pack, just TSC. He also talks about porting the models over in the video on YouTube.

That's not correct. This is a standalone DLC with no dependencies.
