It definitely looks nice. I'm sure there would be complaint posts if this wouldn't be fine. We can always argue the price, but that's the choice of the creator. They did the math and figured this will net them the most (sales volume * price). (If anything, this looks like a bump.)
I have brought this pack but I cannot get it to load. I have all of the requirements and it seemed to install through the ATS installer but no luck so far. Some of the coaches load (not all) but none of the class 47s load. I am in the process of going through support to try and sort my issue out but I thought I would post on here to see if anyone else is or had problems with installing the pack? regards Tom
Works without a hitch at my end. There are two quick things that you might want to check if you haven't already. For the Class 47s to work at all, you need to have the DTG Huddersfield Line route (Manchester Victoria to Leeds), which is available on Steam. If you're trying to place an ATS Class 47 in the scenario editor, you need to tick DTG/Class47Pack04 in the product/provider menu.
Maybe you will start to show some respect for your customers. I won't talk about the terrible non-optional Launcher (but be sure I'm checking its methods out in depth, it was me who discovered the password vulnerability by the way). And I can only shake my head, remembering the route image preview incompatibility last year. DTG stated to use 512 or 256 pixel wide images, and yet it seems for your watermarking route image DRM found in the launcher files you are using oversized images - which may crash the game again in the future - though currently allowed this may change so stick to the recommendations DTG are giving. Offer good service and support and you won't need these DRM tricks. Devs not sticking to guidelines, and DTG get blamed then. You are selling broken products. I've purchased the Modern HST cab pack which is missing scripts, that make some AP HST unusable because engine.bins are replaced with references to at least three scripts you did not provide. (2x VP, 1x MTU). You can only save these AP HST by manually copying its loco.bins back - which needs a separate AP install as a backup. Filing support tickets is useless, as your automated responses (ticket logged) come with a note to not reply. What??? Five weeks since my query and nothing happened. It's no wonder y'all are hiding in a private FB group. Alan, I'm disappointed and done with you. And btw a lot of Class 37 repaints are incompatible with the updated AP Class 37 Pack. User comments are being ignored. I once had an issue with an installer from AP, contacted their support and received a mail from Richard after a few hours, telling me to redownload and the thing was fixed. That was on a sunday.
The uploaded files to the ATS Website are a mix of those which are very good and others that are poor. Some if the problems are where people have uploaded a route or project but they have not followed up with it. No different to some of the stuff on the Workshop An example would be the Western Main Lines Electrification Project – Phase 1 https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/western-main-lines-electrification-project-v1-00-alpha-w-i-p/ The last update was 2nd June 2021 and people are asking questions about the route but the Author has not replied. One of the Devs of the route replied in 2022 and nothing since.
Things like that you have to consider the date on. If I see a Workshop route dated 2018, I go in with the expectation that it will have problems but am pleasantly surprised when it doesn't. You could say the same for scenarios dating back to 2014 or earlier, as well. Heck, a Voyager scenario on the 2011 Bristol to Exeter cannot even be completed! I have not tried resaving it yet in the editor to see if that fixes it, but an Edinburgh-Glasgow scenario has the same problem (being pulled into a siding for a train to pass but you have the green instead); the difference is it can still be completed.
