Just got back into TSC for a bit, fired up the ATS Midlands route and must say I'm mighty impressed with that route - very immersive run from BNS in the 350 with my flightsim x56 as the combined power lever. Those new signals really do look the part and shine brightly. Just wondering, are those scenarios that come with the route using the new AP weather pack 2? I have the old one and that seems to work. Just contemplating buying the new AP pack for added immersion, I guess I may have to tweak the scenario to use it or would it be automatically implemented? I also downloaded and installed the signal EP patch - not sure if I should have needed that for the Midlands route, is it only needed for Chat Moss/Pet Cam? Also did some mooching about in the ATS library and spied some really nice new looking trees/treelines....looks like they may be used for upcoming routes, I hope so, they look great.
I think there is a lack of compatibility in the AP 2.0 pack with the AP 1.0 pack if I remember reading that Facebook post correctly. Richard also addressed questions in that post related to this saying they had to make a call to not guarantee 1.0 would work in every scenario run with 2.0. We already know 2.0 won't work on 1.0. In all cases, it might be random weather that gets loaded, meaning you could be driving in the rain on a "beautiful sunny day" or vice versa. IIRC, I also believe you can't keep 1.0 installed as-is alongside 2.0.
The scenario will use the weather pack the scenario author has used during making the scenario. So for example if the scenario author used SWEP 1 the scenario will utilise that if they used swep 2 it will use that. You can go in and edit it yourself using the scenario editor using the fly out on the right hand side and using the drop down menus. If you owned swep 1 and installed 2 that overwrites swep 1
Forgot to mention fakenham the signal EP you mention is for the ATS payware routes. If it is this one I am thinking your referring to. also as your a sub make sure to select the sub only tab on the top menu for some fantastic subscriber only routes and content as well
Cheers, yes making a couple of tweaks to the signalling on the WCML Midlands route re approach control, but it's 99% spot on in that respect anyway, excellent route. The only downside of tweaking the signalling is that you have to wait a good few minutes to save it as the tracks.bin is rather large.
WCML midlands missing link is great route and when they extend it further south to London will be incredible
I am not 100 percent sure Peter I was under the impression they are doing it stand alone but last I heard it was causing problems. Will see if I can find out latest update.
Anyone know what they are working on currently? I heard they are extending that route. Also read somewhere they are trying to redo the east coast mainline and then are they not working on something for tsw? I would love them to merge Huddersfield and chat moss. I do not use social media so it is hard to keep track, but the website does not say much.
I saw something about Manchester Airport. My guess is they will require Hope Valley since it covers a good chunk of the route already. I think the freeware bit from Piccadilly to Huddersfield will be needed for it, and hopefully that dev lets it be bundled.
There was a plan for a full Pennine Merge from manchester to leeds (Taken from a post by Alan in the ATS group on Facebook)
hope valley was never mentioned. As the screenshot above shows what it will require.. the Manchester airport extension will be a payware section. The rest of it will be subscription which is fantastic
Looks like that will be a great route to drive I wonder what kind of time frame we are looking at. Been a while since they released anything.
