This is my proposal for a possible ATSF or BNSF route for TSW2. The route is the BNSF Mojave Subdivision between Barstow and Mojave, California. The route is roughly 65 miles, which is doable for DTG. BNSF has yards at both Barstow and Mojave, which will provide a large number of switching jobs.

I'm suggesting three possible eras for this route to be made.

    -Era 1: Modern (1995-Present):
    -Possible Locos:
    -BNSF ET44C4, ES44AC/DC/C4, C44-9W/AC44C4M, AC4400CW, SD70MAC, SD75M/SD75I, SD70ACeP4-T4 or SD70ACe for mainline freights
    -BNSF GP60, GP50, B40-8W, Genset Switcher, or SD40-2 for locals/switching

    -Era 2: 1970s-mid 90s:
    -Possible Locos:
    -ATSF C44-9W, C40-8W, SD75M, F45, SD45, SD40-2, B40-8W, U30C, C30-7, or SD45-2 for mainline freights
    -ATSF GP20, GP38-2/GP39-2, GP60, GP50, GP35u, or GP30u for locals/switching

    -Era 3: 1950s-late 60s:
    -Possible Locos:
    -ATSF GP7/9, SD24, FM H-12-44, Alco RSD-15, GP20, GP30, GP35, SD40, FT, F3, or F7 A-B-B-A set, NW2; also, we could possibly get steam locos such as ATSF 3751, 3765, 3776, or 2900 4-8-4s, 2-10-4s, etc.

Already well covered by Run 8, though.

And the route has nothing really exceptional to offer in terms of scenery or challenge, essentially being a fairly straight shot across the desert.

The only real interesting part out there is the Borax mine, Edwards AFB I dont think takes cars anymore. The rest of the route is a straight run from Barstow to Mojave. And Mojave is a SP/UP yard.

I'll say though the one big thing Tehachapi Pass has going for it is that from a development stand point it would probably be relatively easy to make. The scenery would probably not be that hard to do as it's fairly rural route, lengthwise it's just about doable for TSW, and you could pad the route with stock from other US routes. Most obviously the stock from Sherman Hill would work, but you could reskin a lot of the stock from other routes as well.
