Hi guys just after opinions on my idea to include Australian train sets into the train sim world games since it only has European uk and American trains and German trains in it at the moment do yous think our trains at Sydney trains the double decker ones would be cool to include into the game with the routes and the liveries and also the Victorian V/Line Velocity long distance diesel sets just an idea i can also post some photos of what I mean. The images are attached underneath..
You really need to be posting this in the Suggestions forum. However… To be brutally honest the best chance of seeing an Australian route in the game is if someone managed to create something in the Public Editor. But realistically, it’s unlikely DTG or their partners would see it as viable to travel half way round the world to research something that might not sell that well. I mean, I would buy an Australian or New Zealand route as I enjoy stuff from around the world and something a bit different. But there are no payware Australian routes in TSC either, so there are not even any yardsticks there to judge popularity and likely sales.
I voted for "yes" of a "yes or yes?" poll. BTW, in the second option "more" implies that there are already australian trains in TSW, but as you self say there are none.
He did so with my post and end up deleting it, but in case of yours Vern, he actually replied to it if you take a closer look. His reply is added in the quote format. A mistake I quite often see here in the forum, even done by experienced users. Here is what OP replied to you: "I'll give it a go at posting it to the suggestions forum but it honestly would be pretty cool if they could do it I mean we do have some pretty amazing trains in Australia and I reckon people would like them but like you said I dont think the editors would travel around the world for research all our trains at Sydney trains are Japan made and shipped to Sydney so there not actually made in Australia the double decker ones but the purple ones are Australian made in the state of Victoria"
Yeah, having a Sydney or NSW Route in TSW would be pretty much the ultimate. Fingers crossed that one day it will happen.
O ooh YESSS AND with the new guard mode in tsw5 you can do the whole NSW trains fun, control doors, all that fun stuff
https://www.youtube.com/@driver667 has lots of Australia cab ride videos to give you an idea of the challenges facing a developer Melbourne trams for Tramsim?
I would love to see some Australian routes, as I would like to see many more parts of the world represented, but as said it probably needs someone local to develop one. I imagine the most Australian developers would use Trainz? I didn't vote as it is an odd poll with two options basically the same.
Would love to see some Aussie trains, New Zealand too. The usual round of UK, German and US railways is getting a little old these days. We have Dutch and Japanese dlc coming? Well, that's a start. But Australia? Chances are slim to none. DTG never take chances like that. Way beyond their comfort zone.
As stated previously, it is probably going to take someone with local knowledge and contacts coming across from Trainz or possibly the MSTS Aussie route building cadre if it even still exists. That is really just a handful of people who are probably happy in their comfort zone and not looking to jump across. They would also need to be confident and able to work things up to the standards expected in TSW. Outside chance it could be done to freeware standards and released accordingly but that seems unlikely. As I've also said before, worth remembering there has never been any payware released for the Australian scene in TSC and just the one route for New Zealand.
Would definitely like to see something from Australia preferably from QLD or NSW. While the chance of getting Australia is slim to nothing the only developers i could see doing it are Union Workshop. Maybe Skyhook or perhaps even Rivet
Was gonna say Japan being the next "new" country added to TSW in form of the Tadami Line, Id guess theoretically speaking the land of Aussies for a route small or big would be possible. Though if they even did an aussie route, I hope it doesnt recieve the typical american freight route with no passenger routes.
