So I know this route is currently under construction, but is already in almost full operation... once it is fully opened and allowed full speed, it will have max operational speed of 250 kph... I believe it features and will feature both regional and highspeed traffic: when finished, it will cut travel time between Vienna, Graz and Klagenfurt significantly (quote from WikiPedia): "Currently, the fastest Vienna-Graz and Vienna-Klagenfurt journeys on the Railjet services are 2h35m and 3h55m, respectively. If the Koralm railway enables Graz-Klagenfurt journeys of 0h45m, this will bring Vienna-Klagenfurt journeys down to 3h20m, a saving of 0h20m. In conjunction with the Semmering Base Tunnel (expected to offer journey time savings of approximately 0h30m) and the upgraded Pottendorfer Line (de:Pottendorfer Linie), Vienna-Klagenfurt journeys of 2h40m will be possible. The current railway layout makes it difficult for services to and from Vienna to simultaneously serve both Graz and Klagenfurt (the biggest cities in the Styria and Carinthia Länder respectively). Unless trains backtrack to Bruck an der Mur, the shortest railway route between the two cities runs via Maribor, Slovenia. As a result, ÖBB currently serves Graz and Klagenfurt with separate Railjet services. The Koralm Railway will make it significantly easier for ÖBB to connect both cities to Vienna with the same Railjet services, making increased service frequencies for these two cities possible." it is/will be served by both OBB (RailJets) and Westbahn has already announced plans to utilize its speed for its Vienna - Graz - Klagenfurt - Villach services, with this lovely Stadler SMILE (also known as Giruno in Switzerland): Here is some pretty well done and detailed description: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koralm_Railway It is over 125km long, so it is within possibility for TSW, and a perfect opportunity to showcase Railjets, as well as a fresh, new piece of track that OBB likes to brag about ... it would also be nice to showcase Westbahn as for signalling, I believe it will use both PZB and ETCS (pls DTG?) here is some PR from OBB themselves: https://infrastruktur.oebb.at/en/pr...s/southern-line-vienna-villach/koralm-railway it isnt Vienna, which I would like to see the most in TSW, but it would still be a cool piece of Austrian content
Bring it on and further more if one owns Semmeringbahn it should get the base tunnel added into the map basically for the heavy freight trains that cannot use the mountain track which would then go on to here
this is much further south I believe, so it doesnt really connect if it was in the game... from what we got from the Sudbahn, from Murzzuschlag it is yet some way to Graz (plus Semmering tunnel might be done with the drilling, but there is still some major stuff to do, so it wont be operational for yet couple more yrs)... but speaking of tunnels and all, Koralmbahn is pretty much done, in terms of track laying, I think, they are now only tweaking stuff for full-fledged and highspeed operations, which will commence around end of 2025, and Westbahn will start using this corridor in 2026 with those new trains
