Would Auto save be a possibilty? My TSW4 crashes all the time and an auto save would at least take the sting out of it.

DTG are being strangely quiet about the save game going forward into TSW5, the one blemish on an otherwise good looking package.

Even a direct ping to Matt P regarding more save slots and the fragility of the current algorithm losing objective data when saving on a subsequent run, have gone unanswered. The latter particularly crucial for network style or intensive routes with varied trains and service patterns, where you might want to stay in a persistent world. Also the route hopping not much use if your next run on the route you jumped to, isn't going to save and load properly.

But yes a F2 or F5 quick save function is well overdue.

The save thing is an issue, this has gone for a while I guess in regards to things not working as whole route goes wrong from a loaded saved file, are they fixing this? I have learnt a lesson in regards to TSW promises from TSW 4, I believe it when I see it.

Auto save needs to be across the board because TSW 4 keeps crashing, of course this won't happen with TSW 5?

This was switched off for consoles for the origional TSW release because it caused a noticable pause when the auto-save occurred.

Certainly the right call at the time but it's been suggested that Gen 9 might be able to cope without the pause due to their high speed SSD drives. Matt P said he'd organise some testing at one point but I've never heard the outcome of this, if it did indeed get looked into.

For me this is most important feature not announced for TSW5 (closely followed by the number of save slots).

Of the many games I have played and own and some oldies, all had auto-save, and some even had it along with hard save as well as checkpoint save, while many games went the route of checkpoint save only/autosave, TSW__ has not even Sniffed at it, maybe scratched it but not sniffed at it after scratting it to even try to figure out a way have this/these options. But time will tell maybe, just maybe they will saprise :\
