Wikipedia Article Sadly most Italian high-speed lines are too long for TSW2 but this one has an acceptable length. This line connects Torino and Milano in the northwest of Italy. This line is used by two different companies, on the one side the state-owned company Trenitalia under the brand Frecciarossa, on the other the private Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori under the .italo brand. Quick Facts: Length: 127km Max. Speed: 300km/h Signaling System: Italian Light Signals Safety Systems: ETCS Level 2 | BACC | SCMT Route: The line largely runs alongside the A4 with 21 bridges and 25 tunnels. High-speed lines in Italy are also designed to accommodate freight trains by night when they won't block any high-speed trains. At the moment TGVs from France use the classic line to Milano but the future might bring these trains on this line. This line needs the implementation of ETCS Level 2, which is a very complex system but is used in all of Europe and even many other countries around the world. Stations: Torino Porta Nuova Torino Porta Susa Torino Stura Milano Centrale Rolling Stock: ETR 400 ETR 500 ETR 575 ETR 675 Optional Extras: TGV Résau E 412
One of the main reasons Italian routes are not in the game is licensing so unless dtg can get the license for this route - it ain’t happening
I can't recall that this was ever mentioned. The advantage with this line is that two competing companies use it so we might just get rolling stock from one company.
Speaking of the TGV Résau is actually the Paris to Milan high speed train. Modane the French border station at the Frejus Rail Tunnel is where they switch from 1.5kv DC KVB Southern France to Italy BACC SCMT. Also add in ETR600 trains to this route if applicable.
My research has shown that the ETR600 is used with the Frecciargento service, which doesn't run on this line. The ETR610 runs the ECE service which terminates at Milano but does not run to Torino.
Thank you for telling me and for the ETR 400 it does actually have a Deadman's pedal something similar to your Deutsche Bahn Sifa system. Was actually brought up on the Smithsonian Channel show Mighty trains when they did an episode on the Italian high-speed train system. If you don't do the Deadman control you stop like the RSN RRO MSB Sifa
