When Train Sim World was revealed to Xbox One, I was happy. Now the question remains, will TS2019 be available to Xbox One and PS4. Since TSW has more details than Train Simulator, shouldn't it be easier to create it for consoles with more friendly material?

Train simulator uses it's own custom engine that does not support consoles out of the box (partially due to it's age and also due to the fact that they didn't need it) so they would have to modify the engine quite a lot to work and to run well.

Couldn't they possibly combine the engine used for TSW with the engine used for Train Simulator?

Absolutely not, but I'm not an expert.

Train Simulator was developed by Kuju and was released in 2007 - 12 Years ago.
It uses the same basic engine to control how the game works - that way it's updated to the latest version each year Free of Charge
To make it work on the Xbox would mean re-writing the entire program
