All Aboard Studios return! Race your way along West Coast Main Line in Avanti West Coast’s Class 805 Evero, releasing on 27th January

    Avanti West Coast Class 805
    [IMG]

Avanti West Coast’s fleet of 13 Class 805s were ordered to replace their Voyagers, with their modern bi-mode technology allowing for Chester and North Wales services to use overhead power where possible, as well as boosting capacity elsewhere on the West Coast Main Line.

The BR Class 805 is part of the AT300 family which, since 2017, has been established as the mainstay traction for long-distance services between England, Wales and Scotland. Other members of this family exist in other Train Sim World Add-ons, with the Class 801 in East Coast Main Line and the Class 802 in Riviera Line.

Avanti West Coast’s Evero is one of the latest innovations of the fleet, featuring a familiar shell, but with a much more ergonomic interior, refined cab, optimised kitchen space, and comfortable first class section, with the rest of the train prioritising a much-welcomed capacity upgrade on the WCML. With quieter traction, lower emissions and a fresh, modern interior, the 805 is built for the future of rail.

In Train Sim World, the train has been recreated with precision and care, based on real world references and operational knowledge. From the clean lines of the Avanti livery to the modern cab packed with interactive features, every detail has been considered.

All sounds have been refreshed using direct recordings from the Hitachi AT300 fleet, provided by the excellent SamTSM, delivering a rich and immersive audio experience that brings the train to life.
Whether you are coasting into Euston on time, managing a late running service under yellow signals, or switching traction modes on the fly, the BR Class 805 offers a modern and rewarding driving experience on one of Britain’s most important intercity routes.

Specific features of the Class 805 in-game include:
    • Train Faults, including Pantograph Failure, Wiper Blade stuck, Diesel Engine Faults and Door Faults
    • Passenger Announcements and updated internal PIS displays
    Timetables & Gameplay
    [IMG]

Gameplay for the Class 805 Add-ons adds two new 2025-era timetables: one for each modern stretch of the West Coast Main Line.

    These are:
    WCML: London - Milton Keynes
    [IMG]

This is one of the most detailed and traffic heavy timetables ever introduced in Train Sim World, with over 2,000 total services and more than 1,000 driveable. Among them are 27 newly added Class 805 services based on real world Avanti West Coast diagrams, running from early morning through to late at night. You will be sharing the route with Class 350s, Pendolinos, Overground and Underground services, and freight movements, all layered together to create a busy and believable main line network. Additional content is required to unlock some of these services.

You will also find a full tutorial to walk you through every system, along with five stunning and engaging Scenarios created by SimTrack Studios. These range from an early morning cold start at Wembley to a stormy express run to Milton Keynes, a disrupted approach into Euston, a traction mode change at Watford, and a busy football charter into Wembley. Each one offers a fresh challenge, whether you are switching power modes under pressure or navigating caution signals in a congested section.

    WCML: Birmingham - Crewe
    [IMG]

In addition, All Aboard Studios announced in our November Roadmap that a 2025-era timetable would also be added to WCML: Birmingham - Crewe.

This does not replace the original 2019 version. Instead, it provides a completely different style of action that reflects how the route runs today. Liverpool services now turn back at Birmingham New Street, the Stoke loop service is represented through an AI shuttle that waits out on Stafford platform 6, and the much loved Class 390s between Crewe and Birmingham now call at Stafford with reduced wait times at Wolverhampton to better reflect the current pattern. The variety continues with broader freight representation, fresh railtour paths and a set of ECS moves that ensure there is always something new happening around you.

The Class 805 sits naturally within this updated flow, strengthening the sense of a living, modern WCML without dominating the timetable. It contributes with a mix of short and long distance workings and regular depot movements to and from Oxley, helping the wider service pattern feel busy and up to date. West Midlands Railway continue to handle stopping and fast regional runs between Birmingham and Wolverhampton, LNWRs Class 350s manage their established semi fast pattern to Crewe, and Transport for Wales maintain their cross border movements in line with present day behaviour. A number of special workings also appear, including Class 47 tours and a recreation of the 2024 Class 323 farewell tour, each supported by unique empty stock activity.

Across the full twenty four hour period the timetable contains 2171 services in total with 510 of them driveable. It makes full use of modern stock where appropriate with some older traction retained where it improves the completeness and gameplay value of the timetable. And as with other routes, any layers that affect immersion can be disabled to suit player preference. The aim is simply to provide another fully organised, believable and contemporary timetable for Birmingham to Crewe that stands confidently alongside the new WCML South 2025 timetable.

Train Sim World 6: Avanti West Coast Class 805 Evero is releasing on 27th January for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for £14.99/€17.99/$17.99

Wednesday 21st January: Class 805 Preview Livestream

Join Matt and Harry from Dovetail Games along with All Aboard guests Dan and Kieran as they preview the upcoming Class 805 loco add-on from All Aboard Studios.

Please note that the Avanti West Coast Class 805 Evero will be released on PC and 9th Gen Console platforms only.

Unless we're all getting a Tardis, you need to alter the date of the live stream on the article.

Are we getting the other Class 350 variants from WCML:Birmingham-Crewe to sub into WCML:South for variety?

I wouldn't be so sure given Birmingham to Crewe still crashes even in gen 9 unless by some unlikely miracle all bugs fixed

I actually think the price is perfectly reasonable. Especially when you consider that it includes two extensive timetables with over 2,000!! services. So yes, that seems completely logical to me and wow, the 805 looks fantastic. I'm genuinely impressed

Don't misunderstand, if this had been a Class 26 or Class 50 with some new coaching stock then I might have thought differently. However we already have Hitachi IET's in the game with the 801 and 802 so not a vastly different driving experience.

Yes, this is an add‑on that brings the Class 805 into the game. What you’re suggesting doesn’t fit the time frame at all. It’s about a modern train in the present day. I’d also love to see a Class 26 or a Class 50, but I fully understand that this is a different product, and that’s written in big bold letters at the top of this page.
And in any case, it simply doesn’t suit this route, especially since the route is depicted in a modern era. It’s a bit like asking for a Reko steam locomotive on a modern German route it just doesn’t fit.
But alright, that should be clear enough, right?!

You can keep coming up with arguments and keep asking for different types of trains for every product, of course. I see a lot of people doing that, but honestly, I find it a bit strange.

I was actually surprised it wasn't £19.99 (which still would have been a fair price), £14.99 feels a bit of a steal for what's included with the 2x comprehensive timetables. WCMLS will certainly be going up on people's playlist.

I don't really understand this argument about "oh it's the same as every other IET". Nope, it's not. Outside of being its own class (HSTs, Electrostars, Aventras all have them too, and they all have their own differences), we are getting a completely new sound package and newly modelled interior and exterior, so this isn't just a 'reskin' as some are trying to make out, and is far from it.

One thing I will say (as it hasn't been confirmed just yet), is I hope those who own Birmingham to Crewe will be able to have the 350 subclasses and better model layer onto the the WCMLS, I think it would be silly not to. The original 350/1 is pretty shoddy. I just hope those who own Birmingham to Crewe get the new 350/1, /2, & /3 available as a layer.

You misunderstand. I didn't mean a Class 26 or Class 50 for this route, but speaking of a hypothetical future where these might come out for a route on which they might have run.

None on modern day routes. Let's rephrase and forget specific locos/trains as you seem to be having difficulty comprehending what I mean...

I *might* pay £15 for a train pack that was of particular interest to me or especially iconic, without going into specifics. A Class 805 Knotweed does not fit that bill. £8 in a sale, quite probably though that's assuming it doesn't turn out to be a buggy mess.

There are some stretches of the WCML (at least between Coventry and Rugby and Stafford and Wolverhampton) that are 125 MU instead of 125 EPS. I'm not sure if 805/807's are authorised to travel at MU speeds, and there was a discussion just after Christmas on whether the 390 could follow MU speeds:

Yeah thats correct! Wolverhampton and stafford is 125m/h without speed suppervision so that would be the same as for the class 220! Other sections are only with tilting support 125m/h and the 805 does not have that.

Said it once and will say it again, if we are getting a 2025 timetable for each modern day section of the WCML we need the Class 730 to make it fully realistic and full timetable. That would also fit into BCC timetable as a sub.

The units are built to be driven at 125mph however they are only permitted to go at 110 due to no EPS (enhanced permitted speed) there are future plans to role out 125 boards for these along the whole WCML.

voyagers could go 125mph due to compliance with EPS in their ability to tilt

That’s not entirely correct. Between Stafford and Wolverhampton, for example, 125 mph is permitted without speed supervision, so that’s also a section where tilting isn’t required. The Class 220 is also allowed to run at 125 mph when tilting isn’t available.

The trains sims cool so far and I’m really happy it has been mixed with other rolling stock like the Pendolino, instead of being on a timetable of their own.

With that being said, I’m starting to recognize an alarming marketing pattern that could negatively afflict the product’s purchases.
Although you didn’t shoot too high with the price, the price you valued the product it’s still based on the product offering content for two routes.

Now I would like to offer you a viewpoint of a customer, a well paying customer, who doesn’t own one of the two routes in question. What could happen for some marketing “office monkeys” is that I would get encouraged in buying both the missing route and the gameplay pack. What really happens is that I would buy the gameplay discounted (since I can’t access all of its content), or buy the route properly discounted, and then buy is gameplay pack (since routes cost the equivalent of 38 GBP in my country (that’s crazy)). I could give you a practical example with the BR194 and Mittenwaldbhan route, I don’t purchase the BR194 pack since I wouldn’t get the layers from Mittenwaldbahn, I don’t own the Mittenwaldbahn route because it never go on a proper discount. If the Mittenwaldbahn route would get to a reasonable price i will probably get them both, or I will get the BR194 pack discounted on is own. Same story as the class 805 and Birmingham-Crewe…
So please guys do everyone, included yourself, a favor, don’t use this marketing stratagem no more, it doesn’t work.

As I said, the 805 looks promising, nice stuff from All Aboard Studios, thumbs up, when it goes on discount, or when Birmingham to Crewe goes on a proper discount, I’ll gladly pick it up.

Would be a first day purchase for me were it not for the layering issues on the otherwise very good Birmingham Crewe route.

For everything you get £14.99 is a fair price and l am happy to buy it on release, however as l have a gift voucher I am only spending £4.99, so it feels like a bargain to me.

Looking forward to the stream in an hours time at 7pm tonight.

Liked everything about the preview stream except the loco price (but hey, it is what it is) and Kieran's rather uninspired choice of headphones compared to Harry and Matt.

Excuse the numpty question but I’ve been at this 5 minutes…

I’ve got the Riviera Line and Euston - Milton Keynes routes.. if I buy this train will it be available to use on both of those routes? But not on other routes?
Secondly, the scenarios, where will they be?

It provides content for Euston to Milton Keynes and for Birmingham to Crewe in the form of new 2025 timetables for those routes. It doesn't touch Riviera at all.
Of course, you can spawn it in on other routes in free roam and drive it

That was raised during the stream and all 3 presenters claimed not to know what those issues with the 802 are!

The stream mentioned the Cargoline containers. If you don't have these, do the default ones sub in?
Why were the 86/87 railtours removed from the Birmingham-Crewe timetable, and why wasn't one added to WCML to South?

I find the easiest and most reliable approach is to automatically assume sarcasm any time someone says anything positive regarding anything released by DTG.
