Hi all, Done a quick search but couldn't find anything obvious. On the Class 450, the AWS can be heard when in an external view, but no other trains in my collection (I have bought most things!) seem to. Is there a setting somewhere? I seems such a shame that you will be driving along admiring the scenery, but if you don't happen to notice the small square on the HUD (or on some trains the optional visual text box) then you come up in a heap. It's be great to be able to hear the AWS in external views so I can turn the HUD off. If anyone knows if this is possible then it'd be much appreciated. Thanks in advance,
It's extra scripting that allows this, just like some trains have DSD and some don't, it's all down to the scripting. If you want external sounds and even visual prompts (turn off and onable) whilst outside in any and all trains then I recommend this https://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=361&t=139830&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=705 , you don't have to have controllers even though that's kinda the point of the software. This used to be the fix - not sure if it still works, (or ever worked) "search for the locomotive's audio proxyxml, search for the sound (probably will be at loops) and there is a line with tags: <PlayState d:type="cDeltaString">INSIDE</PlayState> And you need to change the "inside". While not all trains have this, ctrl+enter switches on visual alerts, so a small window appears top right to warn you of AWS/DVD while in external view. Again, it depends in the train has it or not.
Just tried to do this. Finding the sound is the problem. Just looked in the 87's proxyxml file and searched for AWS, Bell, Warning, alert and any other word I can think of, and it found nothing. As someone who rarely drives inside the cab I agree with the original poster, I believe there are a few scenarios from Just Trains that have this feature, but most don't. I know of no way of activating it. Mike
Adding an option in the settings to toggle on/off audible alerts in external views would be really useful. There's nothing more annoying than having the emergency brakes come on when briefly switching to an external view. DTG please consider this!
I'll give it a go later... it does seem odd that it is set to outside though when it clearly can be heard inside. I think this is a red herring. I'll report back.
