Trains: Class 156 Class 380 Stations: Glasgow Central Paisley Gilmore Street Johnston (Renfrewshire) Milken Park Howwood Lochwinoch Glengarnock Dalry Kilwinning (change for trains to Adrossan Harbour and Largs) Irvine Barassie Troon (Change for trains to Kilmarnock) Prestwick International Airport Prestwick Town Newton on Ayr Ayr (change for trains to Girvan and Stranraer) Possible DLC Addition to Girvan Starting at Ayr Calling at Maybole and Girvan I think this Dlc would be great to have in the game because it is the only one near where I stay and it has the potential for some amazing scenarios and scenery. Set modern day, it can layer onto CCL. Scenarios: Fast lane: Class 156 from Glasgow to Girvan Drive this speedy class 156 service calling at Kilmarnock and Glasgow Central only Long way home: All Stopping Class 156 to Glasgow Central from Ayr Drive via Paisley Gilmore St to Ayr Calling at every stop. A tree has fallen down on the line and trains to girvan are being diverted and are doing peak time all stopping services. Operate this evening services from Glasgow Central to Ayr Calling at every station and then take the train to Ayr Depot Wet Weather: Class 380 Driving from Glasgow to Ayr gets stuck at troon for 5 mins because of rain. Drive a Class 380 Desiro from Glasgow Central to Ayr and pause at Troon to Await permission from the signaler to proceed in this wet weather. Alight at Ayr at 10:00am Busy Commuter: Class 380 From Ayr-Glasgow Central is full and stops at priority stops only. It's peak time and ScotRail has asked you to drive this Class 380 to Glasgow Central at 12:00. The service will only stop at Prestwick Town, Prestwick International Airport, Troon, Irvine, Kilwinning, Johnstone, Paisley Gilmore St and Glasgow Central. This route has amazing potential and it would be amazing to see this in the game. Train Sim World needs more Scottish Routes and this would be a great addition. I also think there could be a possibility for ethier and expansion with Adrossan Harbour and Largs or an expansion to Stranraer. Don’t listen to him he certainly has some negativity towards people that are new thread posters I mean.. at least we know how to use AN and A correctly.
Honestly, this would've been a way better base route than sehs, it wouldve been a better way to introduce dynamic weather
If I may ask what year is this set in and will or can glasgow cathart circle line layer into this route.
For those of you who haven't been on this route before a recomend this short video that is Ayr to Glasgow Central in just 5 mins. A brief preview of some of the sights on this route. The camera quality isn't all that good but they do a good job of summing up the route in this video
This is a must route for consideration, one of the best picturesque routes in Scotland. With the line serving the beautiful west coast and stopping at landmark stations such as Troon (British Open is played next year 2024) Prestwick Airport ( only airport in Scotland with a direct rail link connected ) and Ayr itself, home of the Ayr Gold Cup and Scottish grand national.
If you have Dynamic weather turns on you are going to see waves hitting the seawall at Saltcoats. Layering wise Cathcart Circle 314 Edinburgh Waverly to Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk High 385s
Layering with these ScotRail routes is complicated. Considering the OP says this would be modern era, with a 380 and 156, we can rule the 314 out, as it no longer exists. The 385 would work, so you'd get a good alternative for Inverclyde line services, and the occasional Ayrshire Coast Line service, as well as loads of AI in Glasgow. Looking outwards, the 380 could provide AI at both Glasgow Central (GCC is set in 2014, so this would be fine) and Edinburgh Waverley - as well as layering onto Cathcart as Peak Time substitution. The 156 would provide AI at Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street. So yeah, as always, the Ayrshire Coast Line seems the superior option, and a good way to round out the currently growing collection of Sprinters! (Also, setting up West Highland Line?)
Ok. I was simply just trying to make a point that it's his own thread. He can do what he wants. Anyway shall we leave it here before this goes too far.
I couldn't agree more about everything you have put nathan for someone specially the ayr to girvan line in my past i know that route like back my hand on dark night with no light to see it but aswell it does give one more layer for the future u could have as separate but complete it glasgow to dumfires or Carlisle calling at ill be blunt dont know all stations between glasgow Kilmarnock but from killie, auchinleck, new cumnock, kirkconnel, sanquhar,Dumfries and if goes further annan,Gretna green,Carlisle, stay on point your idea for all routes is great
Could you not set the route in the cross over period, I don't know the date exactly? But so you *could* have the 314, 380 and 385? If such a thing existed? I would love to see the Juniper? Added too, whatever it's name is? 334 I think?
I definitely want to see this route added. As I’m form Ayrshire lol and would pay top dollar for it lol.
The 334s were long gone by the time the 385 had shown up - and even by the time the 380s had rolled in. The 314 withdrawal opened the 385 onto Inverclyde Line action - with Ayrshire being run near exclusively by 380s, as has been for 10(?) years now.
Given that I'm not a Scottish local, or an avid enthusiast, then forgive my lack of knowledge. But still, would be nice to at least see the Ayrshire coast, or the 334s or just another rural Scottish route
Wow! I'm in South Ayrshire alot cause I've got family there but I live in East Ayrshire. I've probably seen you before actually! Nice to meet you!
Lol wow it’s a small world finding another person from Ayrshire on here. I’ve got family in east Ayrshire lol good to talk to another Ayrshire person lol.
