    About
This section would be about 108 miles (173.8 km). There is a handful of passenger stations and 2 major yards. There would also be smaller yards as well as industrial interchanges. There would also be the possibility of some passenger services. This section is part of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O) main line & Metropolitan. These are modern-day CSX Cumberland & Metropolitan Subdivisions. The B&O would be the only operator we would see, and it is currently owned by CSX. There would also be the possibility of some commuter trains from Washington, but they only run as far as Martinsburg.

This line runs along the Potomac River in sections. You will also pass the historic town of Harpers Ferry, which was of strategic importance during the Civil War. You will also be navigating curves and steep grades.

This is not only a scenic railroad but a challenging one. Cumberland was often the busiest yard, so there is work to do there. In addition to the challenge of controlling a train along this line, you would also be restrained by the timetable, as this is also a busy line.

I've suggested a Harper's Ferry route before. This sounds like a great route. The extensive list of B&O diesel power is fantastic, especially the Baldwin, Alco, and FM power. We need more fallen flag railroads and classic 1950s-60s diesel power. Perhaps we could get this route with Chessie or CSX locos. The Chessie livery would add some nice color to this route. Of course, we also have Cumberland in game with Sand Patch Grade, so this route could be an extension to SPG.

Anything with vintage diesels particularly Alco’s would be fine by me. Though over 100 miles probably a tad too long.
