As a new German route, my suggestion would be the Cologne (Köln) Hbf to Duisburg Hbf railway. This is a decent sized route (64km - 40 miles) from Köln Hbf to Duisburg Hbf via Düsseldorf Hbf. I think this would be a great new route, because it adds a whole new aspect to the Rhein-Ruhr area. In this way, a large, fast and flexible route would be possible, along with regional and international services. I don’t live in Germany myself, so I don’t know the exact services between Duisburg, Düsseldorf and Köln. I hope this route will be realized in e.g. Train Sim World 5. I did see that someone was already working on Köln - Düsseldorf, so maybe Dovetail could talk to that developer and coordinate the building.
That would be an interesting route to see in Train Sim World and it was one of the base routes in Microsoft's self produced Microsoft Train Simulator 2 that is sadly cancelled in 2009.
Does this route also see the “Jolly Green” budget trains that we, ahem, can’t really talk about (yet)? The best solution would be to combine it with a rebuild of HRR rather than have yet another short inter urban route conjoined with another but separate. Who knows, maybe this is the big summer German route!
Amazing route suggestion! A new German part that will be added, always welcoming! Düsseldorf Hbf included would be really cool! Crossing the famous bridge at Köln Hbf, heading to Messe/Deutz, always a nice part to drive on!
I talked with the creator of Cologne-Düsseldorf nourthelokdriver a long time ago about also including the part between Düsseldorf and Duisburg, and he said, that maybe he will work on it when Cologne-Düsseldorf is done (but it's not clear, that he will do it).
That’s what I was thinking. Driving the other way from Köln Hbf over the famous bridge is always nice! Düsseldorf is indeed not in TSW yet, so I’d love to see it in TSW.
