I had a run on the Bakerloo yesterday for the first time in ages (first time in TS3) . I’d just pulled out of Kenton and, to my pleasant surprise, quite a long freight train came by on the WCML - I didn’t see what class loco it was, it was gone by the time I registered it. Is this something new for TS3? The WCML lines were always dead before.
There is a new timetable for the Bakerloo Line. It has been released for TSW3 and is planned to be released for TSW2 someday. This triples the number of services and adds freight on the WCML, and some static stock at Willesden Depot (including a HST). Thanks JoeTheFish!
Certainly improves things a lot. I knew about the new timetable but must have missed the bit about adding freight. As you say, thanks JoeTheFish.
Since about 10 miles of the WCML has been done already I wonder if it means we will get Euston to Birmingham? I hope West Coast over shap as that TSC route is epic and there is a huge demand for BR Blue and the 87 class tap changer.... the variety of the older locos in WCML over Shap is also inspiring....
Well only another 90 or so to go! I can't see that being likely for some time yet, there would be quite a few miles of intense urban scenery and many stations. Also DTG would have to really model a 350 and 390 too and the current practice generally suggests anything new will have one new train. West coast over Shap would be great to see but again that is a lot of miles compared to current UK routes unless they are going to surprise us. Even then they might start at Lancaster which would be disappointing. I can't believe that we won't get a class 86, 87 or 90 at some point. There are already tap changer locos in the German content.
Yes they need to do the full route as in TSC. But a precedent was set with GWR, however Cajon Pass returned the ball to neutral..... I wish the Sheerness on Sea branch was included in the Faversham high speed route. But all in all that is their most popular route. I think Brits love their own high speed..... So I really hope it is done as a true port even though it isn't a port and a total build. The scenery is amazing. It will be like the Niddletalbahn. Nice details although quite long.
Sheerness on Sea would have been nice, although not particularly interesting. It would have added a short branchline and therefore another aspect of railway operation to an already varied route. Unfortunately generally DTG build straight lines from one point to another and rarely deviate from them and this has been thus since the days of Rail Simulator. I can't think of many routes where branch lines have been added, the Sheerness branch was a paid add-on to the TSC Chatham mainline or was it St Pancras to Faversham, I forget now.
It was St Pancras to Faversham. I always liked the idea of route extensions but I expect its not a good commercial proposition for DTG as it is a lot of work for a product which will only be available to a limited number of TSW3 users (those that already own the original route).
