I’ve only played Bakerloo line so far, but I find using the mouse on the dead mans handle is quite fiddly. Does anyone have any tips to counteract this?
I’d wondered that, although it would be useful to be able to use the mouse too and not have it on max throttle or emergency all the time
you can though like adjust the throttle with the keyboard. i'm fine using the keyboard to adjust the throttle don't know how you get it quickly to max throttle and emergency quickly just be careful not to hold the a and d key to long. i guess why it may not seem to work as well on mouse as in a way you are looking away from the cab so you can't see where your going
that's what i have suggested is to use the a and d keys but they have said that makes them go from max throttle to emergency break which i'm a bit confused about
No sorry, using the mouse does. It’s hard to get the finer details. I did try those keys but it didn’t work. I might try a Xbox controller too
Good to know, I wonder if I should try again with the mouse. I’m thinking about asking Sam & Matt about it on Saturday
i think when driving they use keyboard controls. so when clicking accelerate on the keyboard do you go into notch 1 on the throttle or do you like hold down the key or just give a sufficient press on the key.
yeah i know that but when he uses the mouse he uses it to turn things in the cab on i have raerly seen him use the mouse to accelerate and brake ect most of the time he uses the keyboard
Thanks again for the help! I was able to do the first Bakerloo scenario with the keyboard after starting with the mouse! Trying to use it coming out of the depot made me SPAD because it wasn’t breaking and got it into emergency but after passing through the signal *face palm* Do A and D work in all routes or only on routes with a combined handle?
Every route, for the throttle. Separate brake controls are ; and ' (train brake), [ and ] (straight or loco brake), and , and . (dynamic brake, if fitted)
I don't use the mouse to control things like throttle and brake that often - I find either the keyboard or controller to be better. I use the mouse for other controls quite frequently though - it's just a case of finding the method that works for you really.
Thanks Matt! I’m just trying to find the way that works for me, especially without getting a SPAD (which isn’t easy!). I appreciate the input.
