This would be an excellent route to have.
    Why?

    Well the route in question is one of the most scenic in real life, running alongside the River Lagan and Belfast Lough. This is what trains the route should have;

    IMG_1260.jpeg
NIR 3000 Class; used on NIR routes, also operates certain Enterprise services.

    IMG_5223.jpeg
NIR 4000 Class; used on NI routes only (runs as 3 car although six sets now full 6 car)

Enterprise De Dietrich Class 9000 / IE 201 Class

Used on Belfast / Dublin rail services. IMG_6459.jpeg IE 29000 Class (Used on Commuter trains on Dublin but occasionally operates to Belfast)

Another idea in regards to DLCs, could be the RPSI fleet; such as

    IMG_9935.jpeg
IE 071 Class / Steam + Cravens (used for southern excursions)
RPSI Steam (4, 131 and 171) for northern excursions + RPSI MkII carriages.

NIR 111 Class - Could also be a DLC, Used on Ballast Operations to Poyntzpass, possibly also with RPSI MkII? IMG_0197.jpeg IMG_7682.jpeg Weedspraying / RHTT

    IMG_9741.jpeg
MPV (used for Weedspraying / RHTT but 111 + Waterjetter can cover when needed)

    IMG_7316.jpeg
NIR 111 Class + Hoppers, can be used on Ballast trains.

let me know if this route would be possible!

Some really nice locos on a very scenic route. I think a more popular option might be Belfast to Londonderry, given that those two cities are more well known and the route is longer, but for a first northern Irish route, Belfast to whitehead would be a suitable length

I have information about Irish Trains and and the Schematics of most of the trains you posted, but to my utter dismay, I found a real lack of Irish LiDAR data. I searched a few places for it, but to no avail.
I have the Irish models and stuff lying about from TS Classic, when I used to hang out on UKTS. The lack of LiDAR for Ireland is going to be a real gotcha.

So long as they have reasonable normal DEM data, that would suffice at a pinch. Shouldn’t stop DTG making such a route if it fulfilled all or most of the LAMPOIL requirements.

Bit touchy aren’t we? My comments were truthful and positive. There is no reason why a route couldn’t be made with normal hi res DEM data.

    Anyhow ta ta for now.

The track gauge adopted by the mainline railways in Ireland is 1,600 mm (5 ft 3 in).this would be a major hurdle i would say.
