It's also been the same on other shorter routes so it shouldn't be a surprise

The inclusion of the dual voltage function is pretty cool. Does anybody know if the route allows the maximum speed of 100kmh?

Collectibles: Alpine hats, great. But pizza? I realize the line crosses just into northwest Italy, but pizza is a Neapolitan thing.

If tsw exists in console, the dlc also exists in console.

The auto announcer is good but i wouldn't like to have the same problem with announcer of br class 385. For example, in italian version, it seems to be a robot then a person. I hope Rivet games didn't copy sound of GE 4/4 II loco. If the sounds aren't original, it hurts the playing and the route.
After the launch of trailer i am disappointed and i don't know if i will buy it

I do like the auto announcements. These should be implemented on all future routes imo, if plausible during the time period, technology etc.

No the sounds are totally different! I have seen in the video and it was very obvious that is not a GE 4/4

More than. I have no idea what cuckoo clocks are supposed to have to do with this area of Germany. Further south along the Rhine, sure, but certainly not in the area depicted in TSW.

First impressions are quite good of the scenery and train model in particular, I will give the preview stream a watch (but unfortunately can’t make a purchase regardless unless DTG sort out the now infamous xbox core issue… do kindly issue an announcement if that changes)

They're certainly not giving it away, that's for sure. Not sure about paying over A$2/km for something.

I'm still disappointed the Allegra doesn't layer onto ARL. They've given the excuse as not knowing how to layer an EMU onto loco trains, but surely if you slap some coaches on the back of the Allegra it would work more or less as a loco (ie having to do the headshunts etc).
Failing that just make a new timetable based on the previous one but swap out half of the loco runs with Allegras.
Good to see the tank wagons making an appearance.

You could try doing it yourself. It's not something they can just do simply. It's not a days job of work and it all just works perfectly. Rivet can't do everything as a small 3rd party. At the end of the day, it's a choice to buy it or not.

Also as some have pointed out DTG got loco hauled services to work on TVL- surely there’s a process by which Rivet can ask for help on these knowledge based things.
I don’t mind waiting a bit longer for things, I just want what I buy to work on as much stuff as possible. The Arosa Line as far as I’m aware uses Allegras far more than loco-hauled and now we have the Allegra I would like to see this reflected.

Way overpriced for the short just over half the actual route we are being given. Only way the £30 price tag could be justified is if this was early access Part One with the remainder to follow and some additional rolling stock later in the year. Even if Rivet have managed to overcome all their previous production shortcomings, IMHO this resides firmly within the 80% off in a sale or bundle purchase paradigm.

What makes the price even more of a joke is that in Switzerland it is 44.50 CHF which converted to UKP is £41. So half a route for a full route price and here in Switzerland where the route is based, they expect us to pay an extra 33%

Finally I can see a little piece of Italy in TSW!
At least, some landscape or of Tirano...

Right but in Tirano there's a good restaurant where you can take a very good pizza

Ouch. That could buy two or three additional maps for ATS or ETS2, two season passes for Snowrunner and even have change after buying a full length route for the Japanese JR video based sim.

As a consoleplayer,I hope that the announcements will be easier to operate than the one on the 385. So fidelly to get to them with a controller that I never use them.

It's a game design thing, called a collection-based reward system, it's there to promote exploration of the game which also provides more depth to the game and adds more goals for a player. So in TSW it's there to motivate you to explore the whole route and it's stations and yards.

According to what was shared, the announcements will be automatic. There will be probably a way to completely disable or enable them, but nothing more will be required to press for them to play.

I have eaten pizza in Tirano, just in the station area. In Switzerland is one of the more affordable options if you need to eat something. So it not that strange.

As far as I know the Swiss get a double income compared to other countries. Prices in general are also twice as high as Dutch prices, so it is relatively cheap. Half a route is just an opinion. I think it takes one hour and half to drive it all, so that is quite good. But, yes of course I would have loved to get the other half as well, or even better, the complete Swiss narrow gauge alpine network. But this would make the route unaffordable. It is a compromise and you have the option to enjoy this part or to keep nagging and not enjoy it, or both. I am looking forward to this route.

But how would that explain prices set for Poland (PLN) which are right below Swiss and above all other worldwde?

Regarding the double income. We don’t. At least I don’t. We get a higher income as rent and food generally costs a lot more. Nowhere near double.

Regardless it doesn’t cost DTG any more to produce or sell an electronic product in my country. In fact it costs them less as the tax is not so high. I don’t see why I should pay them more. For any other product I can buy it from another country and pay the import duty, but Steam have you locked to your country of residence.

Regarding the price. It’s purely down to Steam. PlayStation prices reflect the current exchange rate. XBox somewhere in the middle. So it’s not even consistent. JD has explained before that it’s down to Steams pricing matrix which they could override. They choose not to though.

Whether you think it’s half a route or not, it has a totally unrealistic end point in my opinion. A train would never terminate at Ospizio Bernina. There is nothing there.

Again half- finished short route for children?

I would not even take Tirano-Ospizio Bernina for free cause it is not worth taking my SSD space.

    ENOUGH IS ENOUGH....

On a positive note, I really like the snowy road textures seen in the preview video. Much better to see proper tyre tracks in the snow than blank white roads like we used to have on Arosalinie.

The tank car is also a nice addition for the RhB fleet.

What I really don't like once again is the way the tracks look in snow. Looks like the terrain does not have the snow accumulation effect that most newer routes have, so the snowy tracks just stick out of the terrain, not blending in properly.

I've seen some opinions on the route. It looks good. I'll be watching tomorrow nigthts stream before ordering. hopefully preordering. Maybe also DadRail, British Ace and Trainsimulatordriver on Youtube, to get an opinion, as they will get the route earlier. Rivet and DTG are serious developers, So far they've fixed most of the issues I've reported to DTG support. I'm looking forward to the voice announcements.

Well, this is another route that I bought at the pre-sale discount price just because it includes some freight-based services, at least one of which may include a bit of shunting. What's that old saying about "a fool and his money"? Well, that's me, I guess.

I plan on waiting to pick this one up. Not having the trains get added to Arosa is a big let down, as it would breathe some more much needed life into it, and justify the cost of this DLC a little more.

It's also my opinion, and I understand this is going to be controversial, that DTG and the third party devs should drop the collectable system and focus more on improving the quality and reliability of their content. I know a lot of players enjoy completing the collectible quests and I totally respect that, but I for one have no desire to place maps, find pizza, plant flowers, etc. I just want content that's been thoroughly developed and actually tested before release.

I'm normally the one to purchase DLC as it comes out, but as I've been playing through the backlog of scenarios for each route in my library I'm at the point where I'm going to finish playing it all before buying more DLC. Maintalbahn felt mediocre at best, I finally played Trenton and even with the updates it was still buggy and bland (AI alerters screaming away, penalty brake stopping at Secaucus, multiple round trips on a service Amtrak would never run, etc. etc. etc.), even Niddertalbahn feels a little buggy at times. Even reporting bugs feels like screaming into a vacuum, with issues only being responded to with essentially an auto-chat.

On a positive note, the scenery in this DLC looks very pretty, and I'm excited to see how the auto-announcements work when I do get around to picking this up.

Remember with Freeroam you can add Arosa services to Bernina timetable.

I understand and appreciate this sentiment, but for $40 I don't think it's too much to expect to just load a scenario or service and have the applicable trains load in, AI or otherwise.
