hi everyone im new into train simulator... the main purpose of getting this game is that im going trough an interview for a trainee train driver position soon and i wanna get to know a train better... i went trough the manual of the game but i dont see much help from it is there any chance someone can pass me a manual for all the parts and bottons inside the train cab with some descripion so i can learn more about it?
There is an Academy section on the main screen, which should explain pretty much everything. (Drive, Profile, Build, Academy, ...) I hope you still get it as a DLC when purchasing the game. (Can be uninstalled.) Also there in the Academy there is another tab with the option to drive tutorial scenarios for a bunch of trains. Older DLC have a lot. I'm not sure about the current ones. (New York - New Haven version of the ACS-64 certainly does.) In general, I would look into some very old DLC. In the beginnings the game had practically like 10 buttons, and was super easy to pick up. Due to their graphics getting very dated, I can't recommend them right now for any other purpose. In a few cases the first scenario involved a short driving tutorial. Inside your installation there is a folder with the manual for each DLC. Pure routes aside they usually describe the buttons for a train. d:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Manuals\EN\ Attaching the NY-NH which might help with understanding the current Boston-Washington route, and the Class 33 for a similar description. Apparently the keys are not described, they should be in the big manual, but anyway: F3-F4 for HUD F5 for text HUD when F3-F4 not visible WS for the reverser AD to accelerate more/less (to the right of L) to brake more/less (if available / separate) (to the right of P) to loco brake more/less (if available / separate) (to the right of M) to use electric brakes (if available / separate) Q to acknowledge simple alerters T to open doors Space to use horn / whistle, tone 1 B to bell or whistle tone 2 V for wipers (before and) XC for tempomat but rare Del, End, PgDn for Pzb (German safety system) NumPadEnter for Sifa (German alerter) I don't remember Lzb 1-8 for camera views 9 for 2D map I often for cab lights IK sometimes for power mode (between T and U) for engine It can get uglier with national keyboards. The layout is fixed, hence my funny annotation. You should find all this in the manual, I was silly enough to type it all!
