Xbox Beware There Is No Game Pass Version Of Tsw4

For all they use for TSW3 the Game Pass version... there is no new TSW4 version in the future for the Game Pass planned... so you're only option is to buy the full game!!! It's confirmed in the FAQ for TSW4!

I wouldn’t be too surprised that a game not developed by MS, isn’t on gamepass when it launches.

Hopefully this means better sales and deals for DLC for Xbox players. I always felt the main reason why Xbox sales weren't as good is because the game was "free", maybe I'm wrong.

 

The disparity among platforms is quite interesting. It could be explained by a GP contract stating X number of DLC must be sold at full price before being allowed to be put on sale. Or Microsoft simply has fewer windows.

The game pass experience was indeed not my cup of tea. Had it for free and never moaned as hard about TSW as my time with it on Game pass. The deals are indeed also ridiculous, I hope that changes for Xbox users.

 

The game pass is always a thing.... You dind't own the game and have to paid for further DLC right? Or do i understand the system wrong? The DLCs are not inlcuded i mean......

 

Game Pass was the TSW3 deluxe edition for free and DLC is paid.

 

Well, I had TSW3 only trough the GamePass and also bought Addons there, now I am not sure where I should buy TSW4 cause on Steam are the better Deals and Sales. On Microsoft I had to pay the full price, altough I had a 10% discount, because of my GamePass subscription. What do I do with my Addons? I mean I don't want to buy a Game on Platform where I can't get good sales and discounts!

 

well if your addons are on Xbox store I would stay there for TSW4. They don't transfer to Steam

 

But I want the sales on steam...

 

If you only have a couple of add-ons on XBox its a good time to switch, see if anyone has any humble bundle codes left...if you have a ton of stuff then I'd stick.

I am a little surprised that the removal from GamePass wasn't more highly commented on. Makes me wonder how many people actually used that and if that's why its been removed.

Thats nice to read! Its an absolute good deal for a fair price. I know there are a lot of console kids they complaining about everything but that's mostly total nonsense.....

 

Got into TSW2 because of gamepass. I preordered TSW3 deluxe even though the standard version was going to gamepass. And now I'm getting TSW4 deluxe as well. The GP discount was good, but like others have said, DLC sales were almost nonexistent. Maybe the numbers were showing fewer new players were giving the game a try and it wasn't worth it to stay in gamepass? What ever the reason it doesn't really affect me now. Hope we get some dlc sales in the future though.

 

Was actually the standard edition on gamepass Deluxe edition got a 10% discount on gamepass but wasn't available to download on gamepass without you buying it!

 

More incentive to buy DLC items on Sale on TSW 3 I played gamepass version first and then full game via the November 2022 sale

 

I’m looking to buy Niddertalbahn route and is currently 39.99 for just one route. Which I’m going to need for Vorarlberg route. Deluxe edition for 52.99 you get 3 routes, 2 locos. In my opinion Is a good deal.

 

Microsoft was probably embarrassed to have such a junk game on their service that they declined to do further business with DTG.

 

I was glad TSW3 was on GamePass. Saved me losing money on this beta version game.

 

Do the game pass discounts on DLC only apply when the core game is on game pass? I’m new to Xbox… on PS5 I get a PS+ discount on the store that applies regardless of whether a game is in their subscription.

 

Spot on and when it was on sale I went for TSW 3 Deluxe which gets you WCML Liverpool Crewe together with the Base game route. If that goes on sale on Xbox Series X and PC microsoft versions you can save money

 

Yes and no. TSW discounts were always linked to it's gamepass inclusion but there's also a selection of games + addons (some of which have never been included in the service) in the XBox store 'deals' section that are exclusive to gamepass subscribers....

 

all i can recommend is stick around and hope for better deals or grab some gift cards when they onsale. we currently dont know if this will lead to higher amount and sales or if things will stay the same i can say though, if you prefer to play on pc all your content and even save files will cross-save with the Xbox launcher on pc, sadly there is nothing for steam or epic.

 

It will be interesting to see if there is a Game Pass discount for DLC, now that TSW is leaving Game Pass. If not, Xbox users will get no discounts as we don’t get pre-order discounts either. It will be full price or nothing.

 

With no game on Gamepass it's highly unlikely gamepass discounts will apply. We will most likely see more DLC hitting sales though

 

Yea that’s is why I’m debating to get the TSW3 standard edition/cross city bundle to get Cajon pass, BBC,TSW3, and Kassel. Currently with game pass is 39.99. I don’t have any of those routes and Cajon,TSW3, and Kassel only have them because of gamepass. So I think is a good deal.so really getting 3 routes for the price of one. That’s how I look at it

 

Is there a Game Pass discount on the preorder? If not I doubt the Game Pass discount remains. Does game pass discounts only apply to games that come with Game Pass? It's been so long I used that store I don't remember how it works.

There are occasionally games that have gamepass deals without being in gamepass ( you need to check the store from Tuesday onwards to see what that week's deals are. In the stores deals tab) TSW 4 doesn't have a gamepass discount applied to it at all but unlike PS we get the 20% that Epic and those with PSN get. Steam gets 25% which I personally think should have been across the board

 

Then the discount might remain. On PSN there is also always a PS plus discount and TSW is not in the PS plus catalogue

 

Last explanation I heard was that on Xbox (and in extend Microsoft Store), Microsoft decides when there is going to be a sale and devs can choose to participate. On the other hand with Steam, devs can decide to make a sale whenever they want which can be a lot more often.

 

There ISN'T a gamepass discount for TSW 4! The discount available is the 20% discount DTG announced in the reveal stream and is nothing to do with gamepass!

 

It would not surprise me if the reason for no game pass this time is because they could not do proper sales like on PS and PC while it was on gamepass. I think I remember TSW2 content getting better sales when it left game pass? I think and to be fair many people would prefer better game sales over the game being on game pass as you would in the long run make more savings if you bought a lot of content

If you don't get it now you're going to miss out because it's highly likely that once 4 launches 3 along with all DLC will be delisted from stores! Also as far as I know (going on other posts in these forums) 3 LEAVES gamepass Sept 1st (can't confirm this though) but if true then all gamepass discounts for bundles and DLC would most likely end then too!

Yup I pulled the plug and bought it. Got BBC bundle. Now have to spend more to the the LIRR for NYT.

 

I started playing TSW when I found TSW3 on Gamepass. Had it not been there, I would have definitely not played it.
Less than a year later, I have purchased almost every DLC they sold: all routes except for SKW, and all bar 3 loco/decal DLCs. I also bought and played TSW2.
So, if there are players like me out there, they will be spared the experience, now that TSW4 will not be on Gamepass.

When I decided to buy TSW2, it was mostly for the 3 routes at a great price.

 

I wonder if its not on game pass because of the broken achievements of previous games thatwere never fixed ?

 

Curious theory. Apparently MS takes achievements quite seriously as mentioned in an Asobo stream once about broken MSFS achievements.

 

I've read in some places that the value to the developer for Gamepass is hit and miss. Some developers can benefit from it while others stay clear and don't like their returns using the service. I don't think there's any public information about this (i.e. dev gets paid $x per hour their game is used on the service). Could simply be a guess on DTG's part that they believe they can make more $$ by avoiding gamepass this time around.

 

I don’t see the game pass version of TSW 3 on the "leaving soon” section on Gamepass itself. Wonder if the gamepass version that I have installed on my Series S will disappear of my console come 1st September…

 

I don’t have it either, if it does get kicked off Gamepass I’ll see if reporting the “issue” to Microsoft will do something about it
