The vigilance alarm (alerter) continues to run even when the train is stopped, so the darn thing often goes off while loading passengers.
If you put the reverser into neutral then you can release the pedal and it won't sound. I believe this is prototypical, but I don't have the route, so cannot be sure if this is the issue you are referring to.
