As the Steam sale approaches its end, I have decided to bite the bullet and buy one new route for (close to) full price. But which of the two is the better?
Bremen Oldenburg is a very, very enjoyable route. If you have all the other German stuff, it gets quite busy with all the layers.
BCC - Good route, minimal to no stuttering, even on Gen 8, 323 is good, traction motors need a tiny bit of work but nothing serious, layers are GWE, TVL and NTP BRO - Good German route, again minimal to no stuttering, BR 110 has a Tap Changer and BRO features the legendary N-Wagen, lots of layers from other German routes, more layers than BCC anyway Final verdict: I'd get both but if I had to pick one, I'd go with Bremen-Oldenburg but Cross-City is a great alternative if you are looking for UK content, I have both routes so I've made many scenarios for BCC and will make scenarios for BRO in the future
Bremen is very Good I am finding I play this more than BCC and I usually have a big bias towards British routes. The thing I love about Bremen is it is a Main Line but feels very Rural and off the beaten track. It is short but I find there is just so much going on that I find every run entertaining no matter what traction I am in. The ICE early morning run with the lighting was just such a great run. I rarely repeat services but with Bremen I know I can repeat a service change the season and still feel it is a new experience. Whatever you choose hope you enjoy.
Based on my experience I would say Bremen though the route length really is a bit of a travesty. It also looks finished as opposed to BCC with it's missing scenery and fences and disjointed canal sections.
I would say Bremen. I find you can't play BCC at night. The night lighting is terrible. If you compare the two routes Bremen is a much better route and offers more variety. That's my opinion
Birmingham Cross City because you can use modern and old British diesels with an electric multiple unit. For Bremen Oldenburg Deutsche Bundesbahn 110.3 tap changer and becomes busy with other German routes giving their locomotives to the route.
