Anyone else having issues with the Blackpool branches since guard mode as added on tsw 5 and Preston won’t load up from freemode or timetable without crashing automatically and when you load up route from Blackpool or Ormskirk it would crash automatically around 1.9mile mark towards Preston on the PlayStation 4 shame it’s just a nice route and report the issue months ago
I'm on PS4 pro I've recently attempted three runs on Blackpool branches, and never completed them because of blue screen crashes. It is worse than when I last played on TSW5 about Xmas time. Not sure if it's the conductor mode causing problems. I feel the game crashes outweigh the enjoyment of the SIM. It's likely the journey will suddenly quit at some point. On thing to try is going into the layers option when in timetable mode. Uncheck alot of the layers and see if it helps. This means no other AI trains , so a bit quiet on the route.
I've done a bit of testing on the BPB on my PS4 Pro and have a few things nailed down. All done in the sandbox 'free roam' empty map unless otherwise stated. In my opinion the issue is Preston station, or something in a 3mi radius around Preston. Spawning on foot at Preston causes an instant crash Spawning on foot at Salwick and spawning a NTP class 08, setting a path to Preston and fully zooming the map out, no external camera shots - crashes 100% of the time 1.9mi from Preston Spawning on foot at Croston and spawning a NTP class 08, setting a path to Preston and fully zooming the map out, no external camera shots - crashes 100% of the time 2.9mi from Preston Spawning on foot in regular timetable mode with no layers disabled at Salwick, taking control of ANY service towards Blackpool North or South is completable (platinum medal score) Spawning into any service in regular timetable mode with all layers disabled (except DMU for 142 run) will crash 100% of the time at 1.9mi/2.9mi from Preston. Spawning into any scenario will instantly crash (except the 08 BP north shunting) Spawning into any service beginning at Preston will instantly crash (with all layers disabled)
Just adding for additional context, I have also uninstalled/reinstalled thrice as well as only having BPB installed and no other DLC. Have also disabled improved suspension, enhanced display and reduced graphics settings from 4K to HD
Finally got update from dovetail support after putting in support tickets since January Dovetail Games now aware of the Preston bug on the PS4 version. Can’t believe this route hasn’t worked for 5 months now. Until the gaurd mode was added on the 21 January the route work fine at Preston before the update
Still no fix yet, but I did chase is up after today’s tsw 5 update Hi Ross, Please accept our sincere apologies for your experience with Blackpool Branches on the PS4. Work is still ongoing, but a significant update has gone out to players today, and we hope it will reduce such problems.
