About The Blackwater railway system is located in Central Queensland and services the coal mining area of the Bowen Basin. It carries coal, as well as products, to other destinations by way of connections to the North Coast Line at Rocklands and the Goonyella Line via Gregory coal mine to Oaky Creek. Together with the Moura line the two railway systems are known as the Capricornia Coal Chain The Blackwater system has the largest route length of the four coal systems and carries the second highest tonnages on the QR network, after the Goonyella system. It is located in Central Queensland and services the Bowen Basin. Coal is carried to the two export terminals at the Port of Gladstone; RG Tanna Coal Terminal, and Wiggins Island Coal Terminal. The Blackwater system also services a number of domestic users including Gladstone Power Station, Stanwell Power Station, and QCL Fisherman's Landing. Most of the Blackwater was Electrificed from 1986, The System in it's entire is about 1,111 km (690 mi), I know this is too long and I would not expect to have the whole thing, I believe the section along the north coastline leading into Gladstone would be good due to how busy the system is there and the opportunity to do coal unloading. Rollingstock A unique feature of the electric locos on this list is that they were all built as bo-bo-bo 1300 class Builder: English Electric Total Produced: 45 Years Built: 1967 - 1972 Prime mover: 12CSVT Mk II Power Output: 1800 hp (1,340 kW) net Operators: Queensland Rail 2350 class Builder: English Electric Total Produced: 12 Years Built: 1973 - 1974 Prime mover: 12CSVT Mk III Power Output: 2350 hp (1,750 kW) net Operators: Queensland Rail 2370 class Builder: English Electric Total Produced: 4 Years Built: 1975 Prime mover: 12CSVT Mk III Power Output: 2,350 hp (1,750 kW) net Operators: Queensland Rail 3100/3200 (3700 class) Builder: Comeng, Hitachi (rebuilder - siemens) Total Produced: 86 ( 63 rebuilt) Years Built: 1986 - 1989 ( 2003 - 2007 rebuild) Power Output: 2,900 kW (3,900 hp) Operators: Queensland Rail, Aurizon 3300/3400 class Builder: Clyde Total Produced: 22 Years Built: 1994 - 1995 Power Output: 2,970 kW (3,980 hp) Operators: Queensland Rail, Aurizon 3500/3600 class Builder: Walkers, ASEA Total Produced: 50 Years Built: 1986 - 1988 Power Output: 2,890 kW (3,880 hp) Operators: Queensland Rail, Aurizon 3900 class (3550 class) Builder: Walkers Total Produced: 30 (19 rebuilt) Years Built: 1988 - 1990 Power Output: 2,890 kW (3,880 hp) Operators: Queensland Rail, Aurizon Siemens E40 AG-V1 Builder: Siemens Total Produced: 100 total (45 QR/ Aurizon, 42 Pacific National, 13 BHP) Years Built: 2006 - 2014 Power Output: 4,000 kW (5,360 hp) Operators: Queensland Rail/ Aurizon (3800 class), Pacific National (71 Class), BHP (BMACC Class) Downer EDI Rail GT42CU AC Builder: EDi rail/ Downer Rail Total Produced: 62 total (49 QR/ Aurizon, 13 Pacific National) Years Built: 1999 - 2005 Prime mover: EMD 12N-710G3B-ES Power Output: 2,460 kW (3,300 hp) Operators: Queensland Rail/ Aurizon (4000 class), Pacific National (PN Class) Downer EDI Rail GT42CU ACe Builder: EDi rail/ Downer Rail Total Produced: 132 total (Aurizon/ QR 54+21, East coast rail 5, Pacific national 52) Years Built: 2007 - 2013 Prime mover: EMD 12N-710G3B-ES Power Output: 2,460 kW (3,300 hp) Operators: Queensland Rail/ Aurizon (4100 class, ACN class), Pacific National (83 Class), East Coast Rail (GWN Class)
Excellent idea and if you set this in 2013 there's the Ability to run motorail trains with these electric locos. that's called Sunlander and Rockhampton-Gladstone is 67 mi 109 km
