Hey all, just got my hands on TSW5 and some goodies with it after toying around with TSC for a while. I'm on Cajon Pass using the BNSF ES44C4s. I've been poking around the cab to see what does what, and trying to get a grip on things. I haven't figured out a few things yet, like how to enable the Alerter, and more oddly, why the Horn Sequencer never sounds --•- when I press it. Is there something I am missing here? Also, if it's at all possible, is there an option to enable safety systems by default?
Enter + Shift turns it off and on, the Horn Sequencer I never used it on that route, it is a bit buggy even on the Antilope line, and I do believe it is designed to work at speeds above 40/45
Managed to find the Cab signal breaker, but thanks for the keybind. I heard that was the case with the F125. And by buggy, how do you mean really?
It works with the Rotem Cab Car but with the F125 it can set the horn off randomly or just not well at all.
Interesting. Either way, got things all good here. Cab signal working as intended, sequencer works at 30 MPH+. Just wish there was a way to universally enable safeties by default.
Only the new LIRR has it on always and no way to disable it, IRL the safety systems on US locos are on always, the AC4400CW has no breaker or switch/ button to turn on the safety systems only way is to use the Key bindings, or the Raildriver, some use a Hotas with Cobraones program. Happy Railroading enjoy.
The F125 isn’t random. If you are over a certain speed (I think 45) it goes off instantly. If you’re under that speed there is a delay (20 seconds or something). That is true to real life, and I think is designed to account for the distance between crossings and the whistle boards. Slower train will take longer to get to the crossing so the horn is delayed. I used to think it was bugged too until I found out about the 45mph rule and now it makes total sense. Just press it under 45 and wait, don’t hit anymore buttons. You’ll see that it does work but with that built in delay.
Could they have put a patch out for this because the last time I used the F125 [It's been a while] I set the sequencer and it just started going off and I was nowhere near a level crossing, I was basically looking at dirt. I'll try again on my Xbox as I'm holding off an updating my PC version, a bit off-topic, I just ran a service with the new Crdiff DLC, and out of 3 attempts one time I was stuck with a red signal, so, that's why I'm holding off on updating the PC version.
Not sure I understand what’s the problem here. Basically when you see one of the whistle signs (X sign) hit the sequence button. If you’re over 45mph it will start going off immediately, if you’re under 45 it will go off after a delay. I can’t remember if that was after a patch or not but that’s how it works now.
I will have to check again and see what happens, it's been a while, and I have been away from all things gaming for some time, other to try and stay up to date for the most part, If it's working properly for you then it sounds like they may have patched or it was a happy accident
