The BNSF Marias Pass runs over 150 miles between Whitefish and Shelby Montana, part of which are through the Rocky Mountains. I may believe though that it would take months to build a huge route like this even since it's not just copy and paste from the old Train Simulator version. Still it would be a nice route to have. Amtrak also runs on this route so it would be cool to have the Empire Builder here. It should be best to bend reality with this train by adding to its schedule than the IRL schedule with less than 10 daily trains, but more trains on that in TSW. Compared to that one Texas route I mentioned, this one has a decent number of stations, though it can take 4 hours to complete just one journey on this route, both on freight and passenger. BNSF runs a lot of daily freight trains on this route so include that. Despite the journey time, you can get great views of the Rockies, and if DTG was able to make things 50 miles in view, you can get a view of them 50 miles away while in Shelby. Whitefish is in the Rocky Mountains. Finally, if you are that person that wants to cut your journey time, then I suggest going over the limit, as long as it's not om a tight curve for the entire train. It could be obvious that DTG might not even do this route though because of the length until the very next generation console comes out. Maybe in a decade.
Yeah. Only people with that amount of time can complete such a journey without saving the game. I think this thread was pretty much pointless due to the time length and how long it is.
If Marias Pass is added to TSW3, the route should also include the branch to Kalispell. As for locos to include, I'd suggest a BNSF C44-9W, SD75M/I, SD70ACe, ES44AC/DC/C4, or ET44C4 for heavy freight services, a GP38-2, GP39-2/-3, GP50, GP60, or GP60M-3 for local/switching services, and an Amtrak Siemens ALC-42 Charger (or maybe a Genesis P42DC) and Empire Builder passenger consist.
Excellent idea overall and for the locomotives that come here those can actually layer to Cajon Pass joining the Tier 4 Credit ES44C4 3250-3299 which are the youngest locomotives in game due to them being built in 2020. Beating the DB Baureihe 146.2 by 3 years 2017.
I used to play this on Microsoft Train Simulator and it the BNSF Dash 9-44CW and the BNSF GP38-2 and the 2 BNSF locomotives numbers are BNSF #4723 and BNSF 2081 it brings me back some memories of playing Microsoft Train Simulator
