With the announcement of the DTG and BNSF licensing agreement, I'd like to suggest some potential BNSF (or ATSF) routes. -#1: Seligman Sub: -Needles, California to Winslow, Arizona -Length of the route is about 300 miles, so we would only get a 50-60 mile section, but extensions could make the route longer -Williams, AZ is the home of the Grand Canyon Railway -The track speed is 70MPH, so the route would have fast freights. -Amtrak's Southwest Chief (formerly ATSF's famous Super Chief) runs on this route. -Possible loco suggestions by era: -Modern: BNSF ES44AC/DC/C4 or ET44C4, BNSF GP60, Amtrak P42DC -1970s-1990s: ATSF F45/FP45, ATSF GP60, ATSF SD40/SD40-2, ATSF SD45/SD45-2, ATSF B40-8W, ATSF C44-9W, Amtrak P32-8BWH or F40PH -1950s-60s: ATSF F7 A/B (Warbonnet and Freight liveries), ATSF Alco RSD15, ATSF GP7/9 -Steam DLCs: ATSF 4-8-4s, ATSF #3751, ATSF #2926, ATSF Hudson (Including the "Blue Goose") -A selection of freight cars appropriate to whatever era the route is set in -The GCRR is a possibility, and should include the passenger cars, plus steam locos #29 and #4960, a GP7u, Alco FPA4 A/B, and F40PHs. #3751 occasionally ran on the line in excursion services. -#2: Cajon Pass: -Section 1: Barstow to San Bernardino, California -Section 2: Barstow to Mojave -Section 3: Mojave to West Colton -Huge yards at Colton and Barstow -Intermodal Yard at SB -Industries at Boron, Victorville, PRC De Soto -Locos would be the same as Seligman with a BNSF 3GS-21B Genset added for yard switching -A selection of era-appropriate freight cars -#3: Pacific Surfliner: -Passenger, Commuter and some BNSF local freights -Locos: -BNSF GP60 for locals and ET44C4 or ES44AC/DC/C4 for heavy freights -Amtrak and COASTER Siemens SC44 Chargers -Amtrak P42DC and/or P32-8BWH DLCs -Amtrak Surfliner F59PHI DLC -Metrolink EMD F125 Spirit and/or MP36PH-3C DLCs -Surfliner and Metrolink Cab Cars, Commuter Cars and Passenger Cars, plus a selection of BNSF freight cars
