After the update for this route to TSW3 I tried out the route in journey mode. As I never played this route on Xbox I started again from the beginning. So I only tried the pink train. I noticed that the F40PH loco has the same audio issue as on almost every other loco played in TSW3 . When you are in the highest gear there is this tock like a vinyl record.

This time I could narrow it down to the loco itself. As the cab car itself did not have the audio problem. Something is wrong with the audio of all of the loco's in TSW3. Before I thought it was just random as sometimes the problem is not present but now I realise the audio problem is never present in the cab car

Generally there is no sound of wheels and rails, it is to quiet, this the problem of many routes - no metal sound ;)

That is something different. I'm not talking about the audio mix. I'm talking about an audio error. Something that should not be there. The best route to replicate this problem is tharandter rampe in TSW3 on Xbox where it is very easy to replicate by leaving the station . On Boston it only kicks in when you are at full speed

When you say you don't have this issue: Do you mean you don't hear this inside the F40PH-3C cockpit? It's only when in the cockpit with the speed dial at 8 and when the train goes faster than 40km/h. I don't hear it when I use the external cam. Only when in the cockpit.

I didn't hear it on the Acela or on the CTC-3 Cab Car

I'm trying again to play the journey but the audio problem is so distracting in this loco I can not focus on the driving.

I tried everything so far (changing audio settings in the Xbox audio settings) and this problem will not go away.

Very disappointing as Boston finally looks awesome and interesting to drive.

My Xbox Series S is hooked up to the TV and the TV is hooked up to a soundbar. The soundbar supports all dolby's up to Dolby Atmos but even on just stereo in the Xbox audio settings the problem persist.

I don't have any audio problems with any other games played on this configuration.

Because of general lack of sound in the cabin I consider F40PH as broken, you can hear only engine which is totally wrong and breaks immersion. This prevents me buy Acela for instsnce. But I will check your point next time.

For me the F40PH's engine audio completely disappears in Notch 8. Anyone experiencing the same?

For me on pc, I have not had issues where the engine sounds disappear at notch 8. Maybe it's platform specific, but idk

I am also on PC. I rage-quit the first time it happened, then did a cab car run. Engine sound of the locomotive on the back was fine this time. Also did a quick test, loaded up an F40PH service and revved it in neutral, sound was okay.

So maybe it was just a one-off thing. Will do a full run again to test later.

Are you saying you recognise this audio issue on a PC? This is possible as it is the same sound I previously heard on some loco's on the PS4 but it was not most of the loco's. Since TSW3 this has been on most of the loco's on Xbox. It's possible it's also present on other platforms but I don't see many complaints about this problem so I thought it was Xbox specific.

I noticed that it is also present on the Acela but it's so faint in the background it's not noticeable. That's the big issue with this audio problem. These cracks and artefacts have always been in TSW but it was very faint in the background. Something in the mix of the engines has pushed those cracks and artefacts to the fore ground in the mix in TSW3. On Boston It's very noticeable as the audio problem got more body and even got more bass.

I really hope they fix this problem very soon as this is killing most of the gameplay since the TSW 3 update.
