PC Bought The Game In Winter Sale On Steam; None Of The Tutorial Trains Move

Hi, I've played the game on EGS for around 25-30hrs now and all has been fine. For "reasons" I decided to buy the game and all the DLC I had on Steam during the Winter Sale.

I got it installed and decided that instead of continuing where I left off by migrating my save data, I would start over, just to give the game some replayability.

Upon starting the first tutorial, I followed the directions and got to the part where it tells you to put the throttle at max. I did so and nothing happened. Furthermore, when I do this, all other controls become locked and the game continues playing narration like I'm moving, but I'm not. I can't even get out of the chair. All I can do is leave the session back to the menu, restart or exit the game.

Anyway, I thought to myself, "Hmm, maybe this route's tutorial is just bugged right now." So I loaded up the Southeastern line's tutorial and got to the part where it tells you to max the throttle. Nothing happened. Again, all controls locked, trapped in chair, narration continues playing. Can only use the menu.

So, I loaded up the Sandpatch grade's first tutorial. I thought that maybe a completely different kind of train wouldn't have a problem. Well, no. Again, followed to the tutorial until it told me to max throttle. Did so...and then the train started vibrating in place. Like the Active Pause in Microsoft Flight Simulator where the weird bug means aerodynamic forces still build up on the airframe even while the sim is supposed to be paused. And again, all controls locked, trapped in chair, narration keeps playing.

I'm aware that several trains have parking brakes...but I can't use them since the controls are locked in this situation and since I've played these tutorials all before, I don't remember any of them actually telling you to remove the parking brake anyway. Also, in the case of the Sand Patch Grade tutorial...I'm pretty sure a parking brake wouldn't make the train look like a cat ready to pounce.

I have no idea what's going on here or how to fix it. I'm currently redownloading the EGS version to see if this is only an issue with the Steam version for me...but I would really like to not have to continue buying DLC on EGS.

Edit: Migrating my saves over from the EGS version made no difference. Tutorials still don't function. Interestingly enough, the trains work fine in scenarios. It's only the tutorials that are bugged for me. This isn't a problem in route and trains I've already done before, but it is in ones that are new, obviously.

Edit 2: The EGS version is having the same problem. Honestly, this is killing the game for me. I really wanted to start over from scratch.

 

Hmm. Might be a new bug inteoduced in the core game? Will try the tutorial scenarios and see if they work for me.
