Hello, since the route Koblenz-Mainz is work in progress and we're getting the BR 103 for the long-distance express services and the BR 110 for the regional services, I suggest the following train set: Loco: BR 120 in orientred Coches: First class: Aim*260/261 Restaurant: ARkimbz*262 Second class: Bim/Bimz Cab car Personally, I'd be totally fine, if the restaurant car is not made for the sake of building the cab car. Source Cafee car Line: IR 11: Norddeich - Saarbrücken via Koblenz IR 23: Norddeich - Heidelberg Also substituting for the BR 103-Services. In the night, the BR 120 carried out freigh train operations as well, so this route would get some proper freight trains with loco which is made for that. Some more additional info about the 120 from wikipedia: "The class 120 is an electric locomotive class of the Deutsche Bahn. It is regarded as the world's first mass-produced high-performance three-phase AC locomotive with a converter using semiconductor technology and is a milestone in the development of electric locomotives. At the time, it represented the very latest in the development of three-phase drives, in which the three-phase current for driving the asynchronous traction motors is obtained from the alternating current in the catenary in traction converters. Based on the technology of the 120 series, the first ICE power cars were developed in the mid-1980s." And please, don't make the same mistake that you did with the 101 by not building the cab car
And thanks to the Br103 that will come with the new coaches, these could also be designed in IC wagons
According to the last roadmap, German content will now focus more on earlier eras. So in the meantime we can make a few suggestions to the developers about what is desired. The BR120 was one of the first series-produced three-phase electric locomotives in the world and, with a top speed of 200 km/h, also one of the fastest. I'm also of the opinion that a few new wagon types should be included for a DLC. We haven't had the blue/white Interregio yet either.
The only problem is that the 120s didn’t haul IRs on Mainz-Koblenz in 1997 (according to the Fernverkehr Datenbank). They pulled some ICs but the IRs were firmly in the hands of the 103. That creates a bit of a problem. The 103 doesn’t have the needed IR coaches but, if you want to completely prototypical, the possible 120 DLC shouldn’t have them.
