Hi everyone Can anyone explain to me: 1) how to use Auxiliary Shunting (Hilfssteuerung) in BR 112 and 143 step by step. I try few combinations: Speed selector (Geschwindigkeitswähler) off + Auxiliary Shunting Increase / Speed selector ON (I) + Auxiliary Shunting / above options + Auxiliary Release (Frei) / above options + Auxiliary control on main desk / I try to use the shunting when look out by the window (E-key option) + A/D. Nothing work. How to use it? How to use it on an incline (when train runs back)? I attach a table from the user manual but I don’t understand it. 2) how to use Auxiliary Control on the main desk? When I set the Speed selector to I position and increase Auxiliary Control it working, ok. But when I try to decrease it, the Force indicator (Zug-/ E-Bremskraftanzeige) still show 5kN (?). Even I set Speed selector to off position the Force indicator still show about 5kN… ever I run the pneumatic brake the Force indicator still show that the engines give power. How to turn off it (I suppose that Freier Auslauf key would be can end this program)? 3) are the Bedingter Auslauf program work property? I suppose that I should activate this program whe train is running and the expected speed is set up. But, train accelerate so slow (even if I set up max force) – finaly the next station will appear sooner then I reach the set speed. It makes no sense.I must turn the power off manualy. Maby in real life the locomotive accelerate better when driver use this program… 4) is there any information (indicator) GR-F and GR-B when using Driving/Braking only programs (Nur Fahren/ Nur Bremsen)? 5) what’s the difference on control lights switch in position PULT/INSTRUMENTE and INSTRUMENTE LIGHT. And next desk light switch – HELL/DUNKEL 1? I don’t see any difference… Thanks for help.
All of what I‘ll say applies to the DRA 143. I don‘t own the 112 and it‘s been ages since I‘ve driven the RSN 143. Don‘t think it works - at least from my testing. You need to put the speed selector to on and the in-/decrease the tap with the auxiliary lever. Speed selector to off shut make the engine decrease the tap to 00 again. It definitely works. I‘ve had it keep the loco at tap 00 before. It does seem to be a bit finickey though as - like you said - it‘s difficult for the loco to actually reach the target speed. I‘ve seen something on the display before, but never actually checked. With access to the real manual (which you seem to have already), you should be able to check for yourself easily enough. Don‘t know what you‘re referring to right now. Maybe I can check tonight. Otherwise, a screenshot would be helpful.
Lamplight thanks for reply About: 1) I think that Auxiliary Shunting switches works. Once I start with right switch, but I cannot repeat it. They are “moving” (not static) switches so I expect that they works… 2) Correctly, as you say when I use “decrease” the electronic counter tap to 00, but indicator on second counter (on right) shows that the engine still give a power. I record the quick video of this: 3) Bedingter Auslauf may be a nice programme but in TSW world it is useless I think 4) GR-F and GR-B indicators should be displayed on top above the window. I suppose this is not implemented. 5) I was wondering if there was a difference between UP (PULT/INSTRUMENTE) and DOWN (INSTRUMENTE LIGHT) position of lights switch. Maybe it is in real locomotive but in the game I don’t see any difference. Shown on video.
I see. That seems to be a bug on the 112. I‘ve never seen the 143s do that. There seem to be different light configurations/brightness settings in the real locomotive based on the labels in the cab. As you can see though, that doesn‘t seem to be implemented in TSW.
Hilfssteuerung should work, I use it quite extensively while driving freight trains with the BR143 on DRA. There is (was?) an (apparently core) issue with the auxiliary control that made it so that the spring loaded switch can get stuck if you release shift before the other button (R on my keyboard iirc). This might have been fixed though, not sure.
The Hilfssteuerung does work, yes. But the OP was talking about what TSW calls the auxiliary shunting controls - the ones located on the wall near the window, not the one located on the desk next to the speed selector and traction lever. Do these shunting controls near the windows work in the 143?
I do not use keyboard shortcuts, mainly by mouse. Do you have the same issue (bug) as in my video? I see that my video from post above has disappeared so I am putting it up again: And another question: I read somewhere (even on this forum) that the driver's seat are adjustable (?)
Good question. They do work on the 146 and 185, but they're very hard to use because the keyboard controls are way oversensitive.
Exactly. I did manage to use them in a 185 once (although they aren‘t really useful for the reason you already mentioned) but I did not manage to successfully use them in a 143 yet.
Lamplight solicitr cwf.green thanks guys. That things really destroys imersion (at least for me), but there's nothing we can do. Regards
