The latest official version of the manual: English/German to be added at a later date, apologies for inconvenience.

    Purpose of this thread
This thread is to talk about the manual for the BR 145.

It is not an official thread for the features of the DLC itself: DO NOT POST ABOUT IN GAME BUGS OR REQUESTS AS WE CANNOT OFFER ASSISTANCE FROM HERE. If you want to offer feedback on the DLC: Go to the appropriate feedback thread!
I invite you to message here if you have any questions or suggestions about the manual if any more are to be made and please, do share if you find any inconsistencies!
I also recommend you to show screenshots of your best fault states yet, and let me know if you managed to fix them!

Here is what this manual has:

    • A features list which lists everything that this DLC includes.
    • A quick overview of the Training Modules, Scenarios, Services and subtitution options.
    • A full controls overview.
    • Checklists for start-up, shutdown as well as brake tests and the freight train preparation.
    • A completely revamped ZDE guide (compared to the 101 Expert) which makes use of the Wagon List and the Brake Sheet, both of them also translated in the manual.
    • A guide on how to use the FT95 Passenger Information System.
    • An overview on how to use the manual coupling.
    • Some notes regarding locomotive operation such as multiple unit protocols, AFB and how to tow a 145.
    • A briefer chapter about the faults which are not listed in the MTD which, as a reminder, can be translated into English!
    • The GSM-R Chapter you know and love from the 101 Expert's manual by Foobs!
    • An annex for modders who want to make timetables and enable Expert Features, courtesy of William!
How to best use the manual

As many of you are probably using a manual extensively for the first time, and to aid with playing the DLC in the best, most efficient way possible, I would like to show you how to best use this manual. These tips are when used on PC or mobile. Printing the manual is fine, you may not however have as many shortcuts and ways to navigate.

    - Setting up your PDF reader

I will be using Adobe Acrobat for demonstration purposes. Other readers like Foxit may also have similar features.
    • The first personal recommendation to help with fast scrolling between pages when needed is to toggle the following options on the bottom right of the window as demonstrated. Zooming to page level and disabling scrolling allows every scroll to automatically change the page. One or two-page view is up to you, both work pretty well with these settings on PC.

    • Second recommendation is to open the Bookmarks tab. Bookmarks are links to different parts of the manual, in this case, it will replicate the Table of Contents for easy access.

    - Some tips on how to navigate in the document

    • Across the manual, you may come across some blue and underlined text. These are hyperlinks, links which will redirect you to the appropriate chapter in the manual. If ever in doubt when reading a chapter, click on them to continue to that section.

    Plans

A minor udpate to the manual will be made to correct a couple of typos and misses and add a couple of details.
There are no plans for any major updates, so besides the upcoming update, consider it to be the final version!

    Some final words

A reminder: If you find yourself completely stuck, use the Fault Simulation screen on the EBuLa screen, press [St] to do so, then [3] to reset the faults. DO NOT RESET SIMULATION PHYSICS.

Once again, lots of support from the community, thank you so much to everyone! I am always really happy to work with the community to improve the manuals. I really hope you will like the changes to the writing style of this manual!
I would like to once again, thank Lukas and the whole of the CRG team for the opportunity. This is the second Expert Manual, and of course one among many manuals I have had the pleasure of writing for TSG as a whole, and I hope to continue to do so in the future :) Many thanks to DTG for also making it possible to up the simulation level on TSW!

Thank you very much for reading this thread, and enjoy.

Thank you for remembering your Russian-speaking clients. Yesterday, in our local chat, we tried to persuade Konstantin to make a translation, even though he was reluctant. And today it is already ready, because the message is from you.

I worked with Konstantin to help get the 101 Expert manual translated every time I made an update, so because it was a good one and I saw that you guys liked it, I took the initiative to send him a copy for translation. :)
