The heading tells a story - I am seeking BR 1960s/1970s - early 1980s Wagons for carriage of Scrap with load for a route project (more than one actually). I can find plenty of 5/7plank plus 16T steel wagons that I remember being used for the job at the many scrap yards I visited seeking out the remnants of steam back in the day BUT I cannot find one that has a scrap load. I might be able to cobble one up but does anyone know of such a beast as that which I seek.
Thanks for responding, the comments confirm what I was thinking. What I seek is a wagon in the game with a scrap load. Loads of wagons but I haven’t found one with a scrap load of the right type. Those with a load are all modern air braked.
Well, I decided to have ago myself and utilising Michael Whiteleys CoalWagonPack 1's 16T coal wagons in 4 shades of dirt and my extensive library of US gondolas with scrap loads I now have 5 types of scrap load for the wagons giving 20 wagons, all in some way different. I have 4 types of ferrous scrap and 1 of non ferrous. The route is a 2012 US switching route that have always admired but I have changed all point levers, signals, buffer stops, roads, certain markers (e.g. shunt for switch) and some buildings (signal boxes) to give me a unique British route set in the Green diesel era pre Air Braking. Top: from right to left Scrap 5 one wagon, Scrap 1 4 wagons, Scrap 2 4 wagons Bottom: Right to left: Scrap 3 (non ferrous ), 4 wagons, Scrap 4 4 wagons, MT 1 wagon
Even better, just tried them on an unloader and they empty - should have known really as the game thinks its coal Happy to post them on a suitable site - but where?
I have now changed all the track from US style to Bullhead (Michael Whiteley as in the Maerdy routes) with Bath-Templecombe switch levers. There are two versions 1959 with steam facilities and 1977 with diesel only facilities. It's only a short shunting route but it/they will need a home (and Peter, I will consider your suggestion). The original route before I got to "tamper with it" was called Atlantic Bay Terminal and is the work of Michael Stephan (Great Northerner) who has previously permitted me to publish (RWA) an amended US version. His is the main work in this. Michael is part of the "consortium" that produced such as the Montana Hi-Line and has been producing routes and rolling stock for the US since at least 2012.
