Hi guys just picked up the bar class 31 and would like to know if I can use the loco to pull coaches instead of freight. Like run it on the west Somerset route. cheers
It is possible, although in a far-from-ideal way. Basically, it can only be used to haul a BR Class 101 for passenger services, rather than hauling a proper set of coaches. On WSR if you create a scenario, and choose the class 31, the 7th option in the formation list is BR Class 31/1x1 + Class 101 2car. This will make passenger services possible, but it isn't really how anyone imagines a loco-hauled service to look! Whether there is any plan to change that now that the preserved collection crew are looking into ways to improve routes and locos such as this, I don't know, hopefully so, because the Class 31 would look great hauling a rake of proper passenger coaches, particularly the MK.II stock from the Trans-Pennine route shortly to be preserved in TSW2.
In ECW (TSW 2020) you can drive the Class 31 with coaches when you choose the 'Vintage Rail Tour', between Lewes and Eastbourne. Train Sim World by RealKenny_D posted Aug 18, 2020 at 5:55 PM
in TSW2020, theClass 31 was also available on WSR with the MK1 coaches. This option is missing on TSW2.
They said it is a substitution error and that i will be fixed at some point (like 155 and 182 on SKA)

If you own East Coast-way, and NTP go into the timetable mode and select the class 31, it will give you a service for a railtour between Lewes & Eastbourne, with the MK(2?) coaches from NTP
