Can anyone please advise where I can get either of the above that is not an AP version? I believe there used to be one in the long time discontinued DLC - RSC Class37Pack01.
Not sure for definite but could possibly throw in, am not at main PC at the moment so can't check till tomorrow, but something like Weardale or Western Lines of Scotland the PORT Road, spring to mind as they tended to include that sort of era and are quite dated DLC. Hope that might help a tad.
Sadly my search continues. The image used in the Wear Valley route is of a centre headcode but the engine is a split code, which is actually appropriate for the area.
Hmm. The image must then be from the retired Class37Pack01. So at the moment the AP Class 37 Pack 2 seems to be the only option.
Why not plump for the AP 37? There will be a sale sooner or later. AP’s 37 is probably the best locomotive ever produced for TS - that’s in my opinion, of course, lest anyone have contrary views
Thank you for responding. It may be so and I have the AP pack but it is Raildriver incompatible and that is more important to me than its accuracy. I will just base my efforts in the North East where all the allocated 37s were split code. I can manage without centre HC but the South Wales and South West routes never had split Headcode 37s until after refurb when they had been removed and the doors plated over (and I can manage without those routes as well). British routes are tertiary in my interests I just like to dabble on occasions when I want a change from US or DE routes.
The original Portsmouth Direct Line came with a Class 37 with central head code panel https://store.steampowered.com/app/65218/Train_Simulator_Portsmouth_Direct_Line_Route_AddOn/ This set of Repaints on UKTS uses that loco as a base https://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php?form_fileid=39571
Nothing is RailDriver incompatible if you use the right software.. Search Google for CobraOne's "TS Classic Raildriver and Joystick Interface" (It's on the UKTS forum but he's also doing a TSW version which is discussed in the TSW section here on the official forums)
Thanks but I have been there tried it and got hopelessly lost in the instructions or scarcity of same. Asking for a joystick I don’t have nor want. AP state it clearly NOT compatible, their caps.
And AP are correct, their stuff isn't completely compatible with the native RailDriver software (no surprise because it's utter dog poop) however it is compatible with CobraOne's software, not withstanding peoples inability to figure out the extremely simple operating instructions of course. Doesn't change my prior statement that AP stock IS compatible with the RailDriver IF you use the correct software correctly.. I've been using all AP stock and the RailDriver successfully for a couple of years and I'm guessing I'm not the only one. It also allows me to have and use a DSD pedal correctly (lift to reset) but there you go.
If they are extremely simple how come people have an inability to understand them - be careful with your reply - I am a retired engineer not of the driving type. Having said that I am always prepared to try again.
You mean how come YOU have the inability to understand them. They are deemed extremely simple simply because this simpleton simply understood them. As a former engineer I'm sure you'll figure it out.
Sadly the loco in this DLC is the same as that in the DLC Settle & Carlisle i.e. EWS which is a 37/7 and the repaints still have an ETH plug plus the high intensity headlight fitted at refurbishment. I am seeking a 37/0 with CHC and the Ap is the only one(s) found. I'll have to give the Cobra another go but as stated before it's not the end of the world (that's forecast to be .............
Gentlemen (and any Ladies) to paraphrase another thread, there is a community. Thanks to Torf, Peter and Reef and their contributions I have been "encouraged" to "go for it". I now have the Cobra interface working, AP Class 37s and VP class 47s working using the interface. The interface took time and patience - the suggested "up to 35 minutes" actually took the editor 2 hours and fifty but then I do have a lot of files and I had to re-install the AP stuff after setting up the Raildriver (and I worked out that I needed to run the editor for that file). Anyway this duffer is grateful to the "community".
Pretty certain that the 37s bundled with the original Portsmouth route + E&G are the model from the withdrawn Class 37 Pack, not the one from the S&C Pack (which I think is supposed to be a 37/4)
Thanks for responding, The Portsmouth and S&C are the same - EWS 37/7 with the Hi-intensity H light so unsuitable for my project. I have now gone with the AP pack which does have the right ones and I thank all for the assistance along the way.
I haven't got the Pi Engineering software at all so no you don't need it, CobraOne's software reads it's information from the RailDriver.dll and/or the RailDriver64.dll files located in the RailWorks\plugins folder so uninstalling the PI Engineering stuff won't have any effect on CobraOnes software whatsoever. I'm glad my nagging nudged you in the right direction and you are finally enjoying the AP 37's as they should be
