Fond memories of the "Birmingham" units that used to pair with the Met Camms on the Ilkley line in my youth (1970's). and also ( I think ) the class 114 ( Derby Unit ??)
I'm aware that Armstrong Powerhouse have taken sound recordings from preserved 1st Gen DMUs so there's a chance your wish will come true. Mk1 slammers are in short supply in TSC away from Southern Region examples.
