On Hauptstrecke Hamburg-Lübeck, mastery of the BR 112 is, to me, as rewarding as the Expert BR 101. It begins as exasperating due to the missing manual and some not quite correct advice on line. My strategy was to run under full safety systems on PS5 with local stopping, but at the same time to run the loco on a long express run under Epic Games on PC and to test and to pause the PS5, test my intended action on the PC, try alternatives, make my definitive plan, return to the PS5. If you only run on one platform, you might have to depend on Save ... or not. It really is worth mastering the BR 112 for runs with many stops and with safety systems on because this loco offers a lot. Until we get a BR 120, i try to keep interested in what we have for now ... and the BR 218 also runs on this route ! P.S. Drive the Ludwigsbahn timetabled service, reach 90 with speed selector, then the challenge: without ever setting speed selector Off, drive a ways at 94-96 on that 95 kph stretch on the up gradient, then return to driving at 90, but with no unintended e-braking occurring. Hint: 4 additional controls are used in this smooth cycle. No, the selector is never moved up to 100 kph in this variant of speed control as the result of power and traction control. P.P.S On PS5 i am using a BlueTooth keyboard. Yes, Sifa is the Q key, but what can we do but hope ... Now about that very short stretch of track between Aschaffenburg and Hanau ...
I mean, I would be thoroughly content if they fixed the e-brakes on this one (cos on 114 they actually work, tho a bit different, but they do)... thats the reason why I dont drive it atm (which means leaving my highly detailed Israeli-themed livery in dust atm)... it used to work, but then some patch screwed it up if they did an expert version, I would buy and play it, but I would be just as content if they just made it work again (also I am not sure if LZB still works or not)
Hey, if you find that fun you'll have a blast trying similar challenges with the (112 or 143? IDR...perhaps the 114 itself if you'd like) on Tharandter Rampe. Especially on the actual Rampe, hah. Plenty of services there use that stock and I find being able to do that saves time on a rather tight schedule (too tight for the damn DMUs, DTG!).
