I am stuck with a BR218 and a heavy freight train stopped, and when I apply power, the train does not move a bit. It feels as if some breaks are still applied, since the train stands on a slight uphill slope but the train does not start rolling backwards although all the breaks are released. I had a Zwangsbremsung on BR218 thanks to SIFA earlier. I released all brakes and was able to continue driving, but ever since, the train felt sluggish, wouldn't speed up to full speed, and now I am just stuck. There is a yellow light on (left of the SIFA light) and I dn't know what that means. I have attached a screenshot where you can see the HUD with the brake pressure gauges. More info: when I use the "Release brake" switch right of the power wheel, the "BC" breake pressure in the HUD goes down to 0 (I guess this is the loco brake) and the train will slowly start rolling downhill. So, somehow, the locos direct brakes seem to be applied, and I have no clue how to release them for good
I don't have this train yet, and after checking the brake setting in the other cab, can you throttle up a little while letting the direct brake hold the train from rolling back, then slowly release it. It's a slow and balancing act with the throttle and brake.
Just from the picture (it doesn't tells the whole story) it can't release the brakes as the MR is at only 4.2BAR and so the BP can't get higher than 4.2BAR too what means brakes are applied. Question is why. The yellow indicator tells the engine is not running, what is weird because the HUD shows it's running. But from the MR value seen, the engine is stopped and so the compressor too that should refill the MR to 10BAR. That's just the obvious. Real question, what did you do before that this could happen. The shown state is basically impossible.
Maik Goltz thank you, this gave me the clue, when you said the engine isn't running. Well, I had the engine noises. So, what I did is: stop the engine - no effect - start the engine - no effect - stop the engine again: this time, the engine sound stopped and the cab was quiet. Then I started the engine again, it worked, the compressor started working again andthe breaks released. I do not know how this train could get into this state, though. Thank you for your help!
