I found I had to use the reset physics on the 363 as the brakes would not release (from the start), but now the engine shuts down and will not restart. I have the key on, in neutral, but starting does nothing. If I enter a different nearby vehicle cab, the 363 sounds to run, but as soon as I get back in the 363 it shuts down again. I tried restarting but it seems to be the same thing over and over. As usual I can't find any instruction or documentation on these as I have found such details on German rolling stock is restricted just like EMD & GE information. It seems to be another loco that I can't get to run because of either it doesn't work in game anymore or there is a lack of information to get it to work, since tutorials always cover the same thing on where the throttle & brake is and how to move it but not how to start it/fuel modes/generator modes etc. How do I get this to work?
When you take the seat of another loco, SimuGraph gets deactivated for the previous one - resetting it to its defined default state, that's normal and reasonable behaviour for the game, else your frame rates would go down with every new loco you're boarding until the game became unplayable. There's scenarios that cover the start up procedure, it's pretty easy. Main switch on, fuel pump on, start engine, power switch on, activate controls, release brakes. And please, if you are talking about Freeroam, put this in your post and then post in Troubleshooting forum please.
It actually came after tsw2 was released. Every train can be spawned in free roam, but free roam also has a lot of problems, resulting in lots of rolling stock not working properly
Correct, Nov 5th, 2020. I've just spawned it and it works nicely in FR. (Though not sure which one, I wish they'd put route acronyms in the selection, there's the first 363 for RSN, but Tharandter Rampe and DRA also feature their own 363s. In the Freeroam formation selection, it's not clear which formation uses which loco exactly...)
The 363 has a bug where when you spawn it in free roam, the air compressor doesn't work. That's why the brake release stops working once the main reservoir is exhausted. Find the air compressor fuse (it's in the row of fuses in under the driver side windscreen) and turn it off then on again to fix the problem.
Yes, you're right. The red one is the RSN one. Was a bit confused with all the different versions It's often best to flip the breakers back and forth in FR, same goes for US loco alerters.
Shouldn't the brakes on the 363 still work if it is coupled to another two piped loco? Also, if this is causing the problem with an air starter used would coupling to a 101 or 110 supply air to the auxiliary equipment or just the brakes?
I don't know, either for real life or TSW, but I don't really see why that would be necessary either. Have you actually tried just flicking the compressor circuit braker off and on again? The 363 has an electric, not air, starter. I don't know what exactly your problem is as I've never had the 363 turn off on its own, but if you can't get the engine started again, it's probably because you've left the Leistung (probably labeled "power" in english?) switch on. That switch engages the hydraulic transmission, and it also disables the starter motor.
